The army is now asking for more troops in Iraq. Meanwhile our military is being stretched to the limit. George Bush who commanded not only the executive branch but whose party controlled both Houses of Congress now points the finger at the democrats and says, “where is your plan?” Well excuse me Mr. President there is no one leader of the Democratic Party. Besides you have the apparatus of the government behind you. You have access to the intelligence reports and military commanders. Your fellow travelers in the Republican controlled Congress NEVER exercised their constitutional responsibility of oversight of the intelligence and decision making process that brought us to this mess. Thank God after Jan 1, 2007 the Congress will be in the hands of the Democrats.
After 9-11 perhaps it was in the national interest to kick some ass and make nations fear us again. But then instead of staying we should have left Iraq to some puppet general who would be our lackey.
Instead George Bush has done a “Jimmy Carter”. He tried to support democratic change while not realizing democracy is part of an intricate pattern in a cultural framework. Mr. Bush has violated the “Prime Directive” of Star Trek Sociology! Remember what happened when Carter let the Shah fall? No Mr. President democracy is not where rival militias lead by various clerics sit down and try to come to some national accord. Democracy requires SECULAR HUMANISM and separation of Church and State.
Oh yes Mr. President under Saddam there were no religious militias! Instead these were formed due to our under staffed occupation of Iraq. Again I remind my readers, imagine Post War Germany three years after the fall of the Nazi’s. We exercised complete control. We did not allow the SS or for that matter other independent militias to operate. Instead George Bush and his fellow travelers have embarked on a Social Engineering Experiment that has placed not only our troops in harms way but has reduced the deterrence capability of our national military.
What is worse our society seems to frame arguments in terms of only two choices. That is to say can we win in Iraq? The answer is not yes or no! There are not simply two answers but a third. The answer is yes but is it in our national interest and our we willing to pay the cost? If we say “yes” but stay the course then we will find ourselves in a Vietnam situation. If we say “no because we cannot win” then we loose our military deterrent. If we say yes but make the commitment as we did in World War II we will be throwing money on a vast neo-con social engineering experiment that will cause deaths to rise and the interest rate! We can pull it off but we have OTHER FISH TO FRY. We must not let the Taliban win in Afganistan!
We must leave within a year but do so by proclaiming VICTORY. We can point out to other rogue nations that we can overthrow them. That is the important point not that we have to insert a western democracy in it’s place.
Kim Il Sung does not care who is successor is. He simply does not want a successor!
Thus initially the war in Iraq aided our deterrent capability while staying and engaging in a neo-con social engineering experiment does not. If we had left Iraq, after reforming the Iraqi Army and putting a friendly junta in place, we would then have a CREDITABLE PERCIEVED DETERRENT THREAT to Iran and North Korea! Now these two nations, which pose a far more serious threat to us, laugh in our faces. Great job Mr. Bush – MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!
The time has come for America’s great Silent Majority – Our Middle Class (and those who aspire to be) to stand up and to say NO to the Katrinaization of our military by Bush.
Well folks let me give you a hint. Remember the 2000 Presidential election? No I am not referring to the hanging chads controversy. Forget about Florida, Al Gore was the uncontested popular vote winner nation wide. This even if we concede Florida. Ok Bush is the legal winner but I would not want to win that way.
South Dakota’s Senator Tim Johnson, who is also a cancer survivor, has had a stroke (or something similar to it). He is undergoing brain surgery. The Governor of his state is a Republican.
In the event the South Dakota Governor tries to side step the will of the people, I would urge an ethical republican Senator to announce that while he will not participate in the democratic caucus he would VOTE TO ORGANIZE THE SENATE UNDER DEMOCRATIC PARTY LEADERSHIP. That is until 2008 when Senator Johnson’s term would expire anyway.
For an ethical Republican Senator to step forward and take that step would show true courage and morality. He could still vote on every issue as he normally would. He would only need to vote with the Democrats when they vote to organize the Senate! By doing this he could use his vote in the stoic sense of a true American Senator. Could the Republicans wish to profit from this tragedy?
- Senator Tim Johnson fought prostrate cancer and is a role model for people from all sides of the spectrum.
- He honestly won his election.
- He is now fallen in the battle of life by a stroke.
- What is the message we are sending to our youth and to the rest of the world. Win at any price?
I don’t care even if the shoe where reversed. What is right is right. Here is a chance for Bush to show moral leadership and tell the Governor of South Dakota to do not just the right thing but to make the right choice as an AMERICAN! Here is a chance for Bush to act as Washington! Hopefully Senator Johnson will not have to leave office. But an announcement by the President, SD Governor and some Republican Senators would make Senator Johnson rest easier.
Well I listened to a few minutes of Rush Limbaugh’s radio show yesterday. He attacked the news media for scaring the public about Bird Flu. He barely attacked Bush for his role in this. Actually I think Bush was right in not taking the chance of an epidemic. Oh my God I actually agree with Bush on something!
Anyway Rush Limbaugh went on ranting that it is a fear tactic by the “evil liberal newsmedia”. He kept on ranting “where is this Bird Flu”?
I know where it is Rush! Its right next to the Iraqi Weapons of Mass Destruction! Is that a liberal news media fear campaign too Mr. Limbaugh?
Oh yes Rush has a new crusade on his website! He is a loyal defender of Trans-fatty Acid!
Gee I guess Rush Limbaugh is going to throw his weight behind the fight against the wicked liberals who try to remove Trans-fatty Acid from the fast food restaurants.
When I graduated from college many years ago with dual majors in psychology and sociology I felt like an alien in the corporate world. My intelligence as an employee was rated in how I could impress a recruiter by citing their Annual Report to their share holders. I was to demonstrate good “serf behavior” by pretending that I did not have my own interests. I was not a share holder and I resent the assumption that the share holders values are my values! No that does not mean I cannot be a “team player”. But the fact is we are seeking employment to better our lot in life. Now does company X operate under a mutual arrangement wherein my loyalty to them is reciprocated? Oh my God did I say something wrong here! Oh dear will I be “googled” in a future employment interview and this blog’s material used against me by my 21st century serf lord’s minions in the interview?
Well just look at the loyalty that these Corporate Collectivists show to their fiefdom’s serf’s!
- Computer programmers being forced to train their H1b visa replacements from foreign countries! Then they wonder why students don’t take computer courses. Oh they lecture how “Atlas Shrugged”!
- The rampant spread inside of Corporate America of PERMANENT TEMPS. I have worked on Wall Street in companies where the entire department, including the supervisor, where all temps. They were not replacements for employees on vacation or seasonal additions to staff. Rather they were second class PERMANENT full time employees with no vacation or health benefits.
- We live in an era of of anti-individualism where these CORPORATE COLLECTIVISTS demand the loyalty of employees but do not return loyalty in return. Jobs of every classification are being shipped overseas, while foreign workers both legal H1b guest workers and illegal aliens are being imported to alter the ecology of supply and demand in the wage scale.
- Meanwhile the Middle Class American is being silently taxed by these fiefdoms to support their agenda. Corporations are financing expensive lobbyists from K Street to alter our democratic nation to serve their class agenda. It is not that CEO’s and stock owners don’t have the right to make contributions to causes they like but rather that these contributions are also coming straight from the Corporation’s accounts! Thus reducing the salaries of employees and/or passing these K Street activity costs on to the cost of the Company’s goods and services that we the Middle Class must pay!
Meanwhile we Americans dial a company and hear the message “press 1 for English, press 2 for Espanol”. Excuse me this is America! I am not a racist. Some of my ancestors came from Italy and they had to learn English! However I do not blame the Mexicans who have come here in search of a better life for this.
Rather it is corporation’s and their addiction to the ISCARIOT syndrome. They betray the very nation that gave them succor, incorporation and profits! Karl Marx bragged that the “inconsistencies” of capitalism would be used by the communists to undermine our society.
We see this today. Some examples are as follows:
- The racist spread of the Spanish language into all aspects of our national life. Why not other languages? This by corporations in their ISCARIOT desire for a buck. They are assisted in this by the “PC” liberal crowd.
- Many small business hide their sales and keep two sets of books to avoid taxes. Those small business that obey the law thus face bankruptcy if they also do not follow this corrupting influence since their product costs must then be higher than those who cheat.
- Since Americans do not want to work off the books at below market value wages, nor subject their interests to these Corporate Collectivists, foreign workers are drawn in while law enforcement is arrested! Our borders are mere pencil lines. Yet these “philosophers of permissiveness” speak of law and order. With gilded tongue these 21st century sophists preach “free market” yet prevent the free flow of market forces to raise the wages of farm workers which would result in all these jobs being filled by Americans.
- These ISCARIOTS of CORPORATE AMERICA preach “free enterprise” yet demand government intervention to create the H1B Visa program that destroyed the high tech job market and the dreams of Middle Class Americans.
- We see these CUT AND RUN CAPITALISTS investing in the enemies of democracy. Recently some Cisco investors even revolted against their own company for being too cozy with the government of Communist China in it’s endeavor to have government monitoring of free speech on the Chinese internet.
- Yet in a few years when there is a buck to be made because of China’s military rise and our nation has to respond, these same cut and run capitalists will renounce their “global” identity to be born again American companies.
- In this era of LICHENOUS PERMISSIVENESS we hear conservative radio talk show hosts making heroes of corporations that cheat on their taxes by moving to phony off shore offices. Meanwhile respect for the law is laughed at by many small businesses that keep two sets of books. Our young are infected by these “role models” presented by these 21st century sophists of the right wing! Is it any wonder that our borders are not respected by those outside and inside our great nation?
America’s Middle Class has a growing RAGE. Not only are we attacked by the conservatives but also the PC liberal crowd. Lou Dobbs has been called a “racist” by these bigots of the left. I have listened to Lou Dobbs many times and have yet to hear even one racist statement by him. Our society, like people, have “boundary issues”. You know the cliché phrase from the co-dependency movement.
- “This is me and that is you”.
- “I have to have my own life thing”.
Well a nation also has to have boundaries. Middle Class America would be far more tolerant of assimilating those ILLEGAL ALIENS who are here if:
- It was first called what it is “Amnesty”. By trying to create “earned citizenship” it is a RACIST slap in the face to those who obeyed the law and came here legally. Yes I can understand when the door is open innocent people who want to feed their families will take advantage of this. But we cannot forever subsidize Mexico’s lack of birth control by being a spill pot for their society’s problems.
- Our borders and ports must first be FULLY locked down with a full scale fence and the regular Army to back it up.
- Companies that hire illegal’s and abuse them must be severely punished.
- The “two sets of books” routine must be ended by small business. This preexisting condition is what brought about the border crisis we have today.
- We don’t want “Comprehensive Immigration Reform”. We need Comprehensive Alien Assimilation Reform. All uses of Spanish at polling places and commercial establishments must end. The use of Spanish is RACIST. However I must add that I believe that is not the Mexican’s fault but the PC crowd in conjunction with Corporate America that is the cause of Spanish’s wide spread institutional use.
- No guest worker program. If we find we do need more people let them be placed on the citizenship track. We don’t need a second class tier of citizens to lower wages but more loyal Americans.
- Ronald Reagan granted Amnesty but the borders where not locked down after. This time the borders and ISCARIOT Corporations must be locked down fully before amnesty can be granted.
I do believe however most of these illegal aliens will become fine upstanding citizens and the backbone of the Middle Class. I firmly believe that they have tried to assimilate even more so then my Italian ancestors. I do not blame them for the invasion of the Spanish language but rather the PC crowd and a small group within the Hispanic community.
It is time for the Silent Majority – America’s great Middle Class and those who aspire to be, to stand up and demand our politicians follow the will of the people!
