While all the chatter is about Michael Bloomberg turning independent and his potential as a third party candidate, I would love to see Lou Dobbs run for president. (Hey maybe we can DRAFT LOU DOBBS on www.Unity08.org) My views, and I believe the majority of Americans, are reflected every night on the Lou Dobbs show. Both Lou Dobbs and Bloomberg are middle of the road but with a difference. Bloomberg, while I admire him also, is a down the middle centrist. Lou Dobbs and the silent majority of Americans can be middle ground on a few issues but far left and far right on individual issues with the statistical average placing us in the center. That is far different from a boring centrist. Lou Dobbs is a “Populist Progressive Centrist”! If you are a regular reader of this blog you will note that I am a Populist Progressive Centrist like Lou Dobbs. I love to use the “lingo” of both the left and right to crack their pomposity! Let’s look at Bloomberg for a moment and the environment in which we elect our presidents.
Bloomberg could be a good candidate when he presents his ideas. As a person he is very likeable unlike his predecessor, Rudy Giuliani! Former Mayor Giuliani is making a living off 9-11. Those of you outside of NYC don’t realize what an annoying loud mouth he is. Not to mention the fact that he wanted to have the end of his term extended due to 9-11. No Rudy this city was able to live without you! If we could have elections in the midst of a Civil War and England could change its Prime Minister and government one day after elections during World War II, what makes Rudy Giuliani so special? Imagine what would happen if he were President and we had a terrorist attack?
Some have suggested that Bloomberg might team up with Senator Chuck Hagel! While Hagel is against the war he is also for destroying American middle class jobs with the H1-B Visa program. Soon this program will be expanded to all college level jobs. Simply having a third party is not the answer if the likes of Hagel will be on the ticket.
I have several issues with our election process!
- We need more commercials not less and there should be a major matching funds effort from the government! Americans love to whine about politicians but if they are restricted to 30 second sound bites then you can expect negative ads as polls show people hate them yet they work! Ross Perot proved Americans can listen to 30 minute infomericals!
- We must eliminate K-Street and substitute MAIN STREET USA as the focus for politicians. This can be done by ADDING not subtracting from public funding of federal candidates! We must outlaw all K-Street funding. That is not to stop individual CEO’s from making small contributions to their favorite candidates!
- We must eliminate pork barrel spending! We need a Constitutional Amendment that gives the President a line item veto.
- Americans must be realistic! In the late 60’s Eric Berne founded a form of psychotherapy called “Transactional Analysis”. He listed some of the destructive “Games People Play”. One was called “Ain’t It Awful”. This is where you gain intimacy with folks by endless WHINING! Well Americans of both parties do this in regard to politicians. Congress takes a recess and they bitch. Excuse me what happens when you don’t have access to your congresspersons in their home district or see him in the paper talking to local groups?
- Pay members of Congress more! The members of Congress, both Republican and Democrat, have to maintain TWO residences for their job, one in the Capital and the other in their home district! Their responsibilities effect more lives then a corporate president so why shouldn’t they be paid a very large salary? They should live upper class lives in BOTH their residences! With that said let’s stop the lobbyists from giving them gifts. Their decisions should be a function of the philosophy that got them elected by the people not the lobbyists!
With that said let us see if a third party candidate can work to save America’s silent majority – our great Middle Class and those who aspire to be from the destruction of the corporate elitists on the right and the effete snobs of political correctness on the left!
Why is Senator Obama’s staff wrong for bringing Hilary Clinton’s source of contributions to the light of day? I wrote a strong post in support of Hilary Clinton recently, but have lost my enthusiasm for her due to the speech she made in Silicon Valley in support of the H1-B Visa program. She is assisting in the destruction of the American dream for many who studied hard to become computer programmers! This is only the first step in Corporate America’s desire to destroy the dreams of all Americans who attend college and graduate school! The Wall Street Journal recently listed many more professional level jobs that can be off shored. Those jobs that cannot be sent abroad the H1-B program can be used to lower the salaries of American college graduates at home!
Just where do Hillary Clinton’s loyalties lie? To listen to her we have a choice! Off shore American middle class jobs or save them by filling them with lower paid H1-B Visa holders from India and Pakistan!
No Senator Clinton the American middle class demands you present a better choice than that! Sure we would like you to win and help create some type of National Health Care System, where middle age Americans can change jobs or even go into business themselves, without worrying about health costs!
However if the price is the destruction of our careers then I would rather vote Republican! Do I want to see a Republican win? Hell no! But just as in 1968 the Democratic party had to be purged of Johnson so in 2008 our party must be purged of you and those who would sell out to corporate interests!
Hilary Clinton the middle class will not tolerate your betrayal of the American dream! You have betrayed the generation both of us are members of! I hope Barack Obama takes you to the mat for this betrayal! The time has come for America’s middle class to say ENOUGH! If we are to see our jobs off shored while our salaries are reduced at home by H1-B visa workers then let the republicans do it. Better to purge our party of Hillary Clinton and start afresh!
Governor Schwarzenegger made some interesting remarks concerning assimilation and the learning of English. While many are taking sides with his remarks, I caught something in his remarks that the news media bypassed. In order to guarantee that I heard his remarks correctly I went to his official site! I copied and pasted this quote from his controversial speech directly from his official site. Read the quote all the way to the end! Everyone is only catching the first part.
“You’ve got to learn English. You’ve got to listen-I know this sounds odd, and this is politically not the correct thing to say, but here I am, getting myself into trouble. But I know, I know that when I came to this country, I did not, or very rarely, spoke German to anyone. Not that I didn’t like Austria, my heart was always in Austria, but I wanted to as quickly as possible learn the English language”.
Notice he says his “HEART WAS ALWAYS IN AUSTRIA”! Me thinks I smell the foul odor of Sauerkraut!
The Governor retained his Austrian Citizenship. Also he has been accused of not joining in the public saying of the Pledge Of Allegiance at Ronald Regan’s funeral. It was reported that even Margaret Thatcher, former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, joined in saying the pledge! Apparently Gov. Schwarzenegger learned to speak our language but has trouble with saying the Pledge Of Allegiance. Makes you wonder where his heart is! We should end not only bilingualism but dual citizenships!
In this era of Cut and Run Corporations that off shore our jobs and technology, the last thing we need is the bilingualism of illegal aliens and dual citizenships for the upper class. The time has come for America’s Silent Majority, our great Middle Class (and those who aspire to be) to take our nation back from these effete snobs! God Bless America!
Well some here at home think a Missile Shield is an impossibility, apparently Russian President Putin is concerned about facing one at his border! The Russian President has proposed that we relocate it to Azerbaijan and our government has stated this is an interesting idea! While I have been very critical of Bush in this blog I do like his idea of a nuclear shield. Yes I am critical of the Iraqi War but this blog is not a simple knee jerk left wing blog. I am a Lou Dobbs Non-PC Democrat. The fact that Bush would even consider such a shield in Europe raises some very interesting possibilities! I even wonder if the proposal to place it in Europe was not serious but a ploy to make the Russians support us or at least not oppose America using a pre-emptive strike against Iranian nuclear installations! But that might be imputing George “Katrina” Bush with far too much competence and geo-political savvy!
An opposing issue with the missile shield is that it presupposes that Iran will be allowed to develop nuclear weapons. The problem with Iran is not just that these weapons could be used by her military locally, but as Giuliani has stated, they could be then delivered to our cities by terrorists. That is the greater danger to America! There is no Star Wars response to that.
I applaud Rudy Giuliani for stating this. The problem with Giuliani is that because he and his fellow Republicans have kept us in Iraq long after we should have left, we are no longer a deterrent to Iran.
Mr. Giuliani does not realize that rogue regimes do not fear being overthrown and transformed into democracies! They simply fear being overthrown! If the latter had been our strategy with Iraq then Iran would fear us! But with our “overburdened definition of success” it will be decades before we can move beyond Iraq since the neo-cons want us to be involved in this social engineering experiment forever! Hence we are not perceived as a threat by Iran.
If Giuliani and McCain are serious about defending our Homeland and they believe in their scenario of a terrorist nuclear strike then forget Iraq and start working on Iran, North Korea, Afghanistan, Waziristan and Pakistan! Isn’t that enough to worry about!
Maybe the Republican candidates don’t understand that after six year of control of the House of Representatives, the Senate and the Presidency our borders are still wide open as are America’s ports. Iraqi terrorists, if they did get a nuclear device, would tag up covertly with the United Arab Emirates Company that Bush wanted to run our ports. But no matter we are turning over our highways to Mexican truckers so the bomb will come from Al Qaeda via “MEX-EXPRESS”!
I applaud Bush on his Missile Defense Shield and his doctrine of “Pre-Emptive Deterrence” against a nuclear terrorist attack. The problem is that he has done a “Katrina” on his few good ideas by his commitment to the social engineering experiment in Iraq. The social engineering experiment will never work in Iraq on the cheap as Bush has committed to this project. The American Middle Class does not want to pay the price to have this social engineering experiment succeed in Iraq. While Bush and his fellow travelers laud creationism over evolution and support the Christian right with it’s nutty ideas to encourage Israel to occupy the whole of Palestine so as to bring about the second coming, let us remember that western democracy was brought about after long religious wars and the rise of Secular Humanism. By the way I am not an atheist but an Episcopalian!
Lets explore a nuclear shield and a Walled Border! God Bless America!
I am a Non-PC Liberal Lou Dobbs style Democrat. But I disagree with most of my party’s candidates as expressed in the recent debate! What is the problem with standing up for our language and culture? I am sick and tired of calling a company and hearing “press 1 for English and 2 for Spanish”. Would I get the same treatment in Mexico? I am sick of the RACIST attitudes of some of my party’s political elites! No I don’t want to ship the illegal aliens back to Mexico and Latin America but we are a nation of laws. It is RACIST to give these people preferential treatment over the millions who are waiting in line legally to enter this country.
Look at the hypocrisy of the Democratic Party presidential candidates. With the exception of former Alaska Senator Gravel none would raise their hand to support making English the official language! Yet these very same people along with George Bush talk about “Comprehensive Immigration Reform”!
One of the provisions of their proposed law is that the illegal aliens would have to learn English. Yet Hillary Clinton went on to state that she voted to make English the “national” language as opposed to the “official” language because if English was the “official” language then cities and states would not be able to print up ballots in various languages! But wait I thought it was the law that to be naturalized you have to speak and write English? This demonstrates how serious the Democrats and their friend George Bush are in demanding that new citizens learn English. I guess it also demonstrates how dedicated they are in securing our borders and enforcing laws against hiring only qualified residents of the U.S.A.
What right does a person have to vote in our nation’s elections if they cannot participate in learning the issues by understanding English! Consider the following for one moment!

Gibberish you say? Well if that is what our language is to a potential voter then they have no right to vote. If you cannot take the time and effort to join our society then you should not participate in our elections even if you do pay taxes!
Please note I do not blame the illegal aliens here for imposing Spanish on us. This is the work of Corporate America and the PC crowd! Actually if these illegal immigrants would assimilate and we had REAL border security I would be inclined to consider some type of “Comprehensive Illegal Alien Assimilation Act”! But this would have to include provisions to make them the last wave of illegal aliens. Such as:
- A complete wall along our southern border.
- Usage of the Army to patrol our borders not just the border patrol.
- The elimination of “anchor baby laws” for future waves of illegal aliens.
- A severe crackdown and enforcement against companies, both small and large, that hire illegal aliens.
- Monitoring of airports and temporary visa entrants who try to over stay.
- Funding for the learning of English and American Culture.
I don’t want to hurt these people but I want to make sure that those who obey our laws are not punished for going through the proper channels and that the wage scale of Americans is not lowered by future illegal waves of aliens. Actually I believe most of those who came here, will in a generation become solid members of our middle class!
But the social engineering experiments of the Roman Catholic Church will have to come to an end. If they want to prohibit birth control in Latin America this nation is not going to be victim of their prohibitions. Let the Roman Catholic Church deal in Latin America with the consequences of it’s teachings not the American Middle Class! Most Roman Catholics who are born here practice birth control. This is not anti-catholic. We simply cannot be the dumping ground of Vatican interference in human lives! Nor can we allow our nation to become a victim of its own corporations. With their endless evasions of paying taxes and hiring people off the books is it any wonder we are in the situation we are today in America?
The time has come for Middle Class America to stand up and say “NO” to this Politically Correct brand of RACISM!
I liked Hillary Clinton. My prior post was extremely pro-Clinton. But NOT anymore! Like many middle class Americans we studied and are studying to become computer programmers and gain some independence from the corporate world. (All professions are being threatened by H1-B as you will see further below) What drove this psychology graduate to study computers was my experience in a corporate personnel department. The recruiters would whine that a computer programmer would come into their office and not want to fill in an application but first talk to the interviewer! The programmer’s rationale being “why should I waste may time filling an application if the company does not meet MY expectations!” As a hippie from the 60’s I like that attitude!
Like many Americans I have come to realize that job interviews are a crock of shit! I am supposed to read the annual report and subvert my interests to the shareholder. “Oh I see you’re making good quarterly earnings”. Who the fuck cares maybe it is because you pay less in salaries! Besides you don’t give a krap for me and will downsize without regard to my interests. Yet you expect this serf to talk about life long loyalty to the Corporate Collective? I have a better question, “What can YOU DO FOR ME? Now does that mean I am selfish and only care for myself! Hell no! The prophetess of the corporate world is Ann Rand who advocated “rational selfishness”. Using her logic then being a “team player” is logical and ethical. I agree that is not the issue. But Ann Rand and other cotton candy philosophers would turn your brains to sugar fluff by wanting you to believe if you just take the CORPORATE COLLECTIVE’S needs first then your needs will be taken care of. Yes Big Brother is all for you.
Under the Republicans and their new fellow traveller, Hillary Clinton, we live in an era of licentious permissiveness where only one class of people’s self interest count! We live in an era where young men and woman volunteer to give their lives in the service of their country while the neo-collectivists of the corporations sell our military technology to the enemies of America as in the case of ITT!
These CUT AND RUN CAPITALISTS ship our jobs overseas and our technology! They could not give a krap about the nation that gave them birth, succor and incorporation, not to mention profits when the cold war raged! Those good jobs that remain they want to undermine with H1-B foreign technology workers. Our lives are to serve the corporate collectivists! Oh they whine about the “individual” yet the only “individuals” that count are the supper rich. Hillary Clinton has sold out to them. She has become a minion and fellow traveler in their crusade to reduce the security of the American Middle Class!
Countless times the Programmer’s Guild and Techs Unite have pointed out that we don’t need government intervention in our American market to obtain skilled employees from abroad. Well that is if we want to pay them a competitive salary! Just look at AIG the insurance giant! They fired hundreds of computer programmers but let them first train their foreign replacements! How nice of them. After all the “A” in AIG means “American”. Great way to practice insuring the American way of life! Hillary Clinton has allied herself with this new CORPORATE COLLECTIVIST VIEW of America! The same view of the Republicans. Oh they whine and wail about government intervention into the private market! Yet when it serves their interest they have no problem with government intervention to destroy the hopes and dreams of middle class Americans! These Republican free marketers, whom now have Hillary Clinton as one of their very own, whine about letting the free market take care of problems. Well if we need computer programmers then let the market fix the problem by allowing the natural market supply and demand forces to raise salaries! These are the same Republicans that laud Ann Rand and her book “Atlas Shrugged”. As I have said before in this blog what incentive is there for a college student to take the harder course work required for the technology field if the incentives are to be removed! Is it any wonder why some would shy away from studying technology courses? Then they wonder why ATLAS SHRUGGED!
But don’t worry the CUT AND RUN CAPITALISTS are only beginning! According to the Wall Street Journal (March 28, 2007) the following jobs can be off shored: Financial Analysts, Accountants, Graphic Artists, Microbiologists and many more! I am sure that what ever jobs remain the H1-B Visa workers can fill and drive down the remaining pay scales for those professions as they have done for computer jobs!
But Hillary Clinton has an answer!
- Can you say “Cheeseburger”!
- Will that be with fries or without fries”!
- H1-B and taking away American professional jobs is better than “off-shoring”! – No Hillary that is not the only choice!
- Besides our nation is to rich any way. Let the H1-B Visa workers both lower professional salaries here while bleeding money out of our economy to their families back in their home countries!
The HELL WITH HILLARY CLINTON! Time to stand up for the American Middle Class! Let us take back our dreams and our country from these effete snobs of the new Corporate Collectivist class. We need a party that stands up for the American Middle Class and those who aspire to be. God Bless America!
