Senator Hillary Clinton has made a huge policy blunder in the recent Democratic Party Debate. When asked about NY Gov. Spitzer’s plan to give drivers licenses to illegal aliens, she answered in the affirmative. Oh she did the usual PC dance around the issue by never calling them “illegal aliens” instead substituting the term “undocumented workers”. She then did a whine about how these people will be driving without licenses anyway! Well if they are found to be doing so and they are ILLEGAL then shouldn’t you go to jail and get deported! Oh my did I say something politically incorrect!
I am sick of the racist attitudes of the corporate America – Politically Correct consortium! I have relatives in Italy who have to wait their turn to come to America! Why are these people from Mexico being treated better! I believe most of them who have come here are decent people and I could even support a “final amnesty and comprehensive alien assimilation act” after certain conditions were met that so called “Comprehensive Immigration” does not address. These conditions include:
- Our borders are locked down with a full length double fence. Bring the Army home from Iraq and let them police our borders!
- Our airports and Visa holders are fully monitored.
- Employers are fined heavily and even jailed for hiring illegal aliens.
- English is made the official language of this nation and all bi-lingual signs are torn down.
- Bi-lingual education is eliminated.
- The concept of “anchor babies” is outlawed. If your parents come here illegally then you are illegal!
- A commission headed by Lou Dobbs certifies that the above conditions are FULLY met even if it means a constitutional amendment!
When the above occurs I would grant a final “Amnesty” to all illegal aliens who are living here and are law abiding. This would not be termed “earned citizenship” as it is not earned! This is an act of mercy! Such an act is in line with our principles so long as it is the LAST amnesty to be granted. Americans don’t like “amnesty” being called “earned citizenship”. We are a nation of laws. I will agree with Bush on one thing. George Bush said,
“Family values do not end when you cross the southern border. If you are a Mexican and you are hungry and you know you can feed your family by going north then you will do so”.
I agree but we cannot be the solution for the Roman Catholic Church’s policies against birth control. Mexico is a sovereign nation and must solve her own problems! However I will state that I have close daily contact with these illegal aliens and they are very good people. But we simply cannot continue to allow our nation to be invaded, even if it is for humanitarian reasons. Let’s seal our borders Lou Dobbs style (no more BS) and force corporations to obey the law then I would be open for a Regan style “Amnesty” as long as it is called for what it is. Doing that would be consistent with a nation of laws and charity. I urge my readers not to confuse the push for bilingualism by the PC crowd and Corporate America with the sad plight of decent but illegal Mexican immigrants. But are laws must be obeyed first and the border secured as per Lou Dobbs not the weak methods of George Bush and Ted Kennedy.
This blog is by a pro-middle class NON-PC Liberal Democrat! I am both against the Iraq War but for pre-emptive strikes to stop the spread of nuclear weapons. My point is that I am not a “knee-jerk” liberal. If you read some of my posts I sound like a neo-con then rant against the corporations in other posts. The old orthodoxy of PC liberalism will not work in 21st century America. I believe most Middle Class Americans are sick and tired of:
1. Receiving official voting information from the Board of Elections that is written in Spanish, Chinese, Russian and God knows what else. If you cannot understand English you have no right to vote in America. Pure and simple!
2. Calling a company or using an ATM and being told to press “1” for English, “2” for Spanish. This is America! My grand parents had to learn English and I want to treat newcomers the same way! Learn English!
I do not however blame the Mexicans for this corruption of our culture! Rather it is a inherit part of our capitalist system! The fault lies with companies. The very same CUT AND RUN CAPITALISTS who ship our jobs to foreign lands and change their identity from being an “American” Company to “Multinational”. These same CUT AND RUN CAPITALISTS now sing their own “Corporate Internationale”, ignoring the nation and society that gave them incorporation, protection, succor and profits! These modern day Iscariots are the ones who clog our airwaves and ATM’s with bi-lingualism! Do not blame the Mexican laborer for this. I believe most Mexican laborers even practice a higher rate of assimilation then my own Italian ancestors to this nation. The attack on English comes from the effete snobs of corporate America and other Hispanic lobbies who don’t even represent the majority of Hispanic-Americans.
Hillary Clinton, who backs the H1-b Visa program that is decimating the dreams of America’s technology graduates, now has thrown her support to licensing illegal aliens. What is it about some in my party that they are like moths drawn to fire. The fire of political suicide! The only saving grace is that George Bush has left our borders wide open and placed us in this situation!
The time has come for America’s Silent Majority, our great Middle Class, to stand up and take our nation back from these effete snobs of corporate America and those on their special interest payroll in both the Republican and Democratic parties. Hillary Clinton wake up!
I am a Liberal Democrat of the NON-PC persuasion. I believe the continuation of the War in Iraq is wrong! I do believe in a vigorous proactive “strike first” strategy against nuclear proliferation and terrorism.
This world is loaded with people who are not nice and don’t care what type of Karma they sow! Yes I know this will come as an “Inconvenient Truth” to some in my own party!
However George Bush has wasted American lives and our national resources in this neo-con social engineering experiment in Iraq. Meanwhile Afghan opium production is through the ceiling and it will finance not only a Taliban resurgence but will also assist Al Qaeda in acquiring nuclear materials for either a nuclear bomb or a dirty bomb! With the dynamic combination of record profits from Afghan opium and the Pakistani scientific and military intelligence consortium, the weather forecast looks good for a mushroom cloud over one or more of our cities. The sad thing is no one is doing a damn thing about it! For all their blabbering George Bush and his fellow travelers in the Republican Party have the correct strategy but the wrong battle field!
Iran must not be allowed to have a nuclear weapon – PERIOD! Yes we should try diplomacy which Bush has not done. Naturally that is based on the silly presumption that our ambassador and his staff would not be held hostage by Iran! They never did say they were sorry for that now did they! Also it would be nice if the person we spoke to on the other side of the table did not believe America is wicked and the enemy of God! Wacky Iranian President Ahmadinejad believes there are no Gays in Iran! He also believed that a halo surrounded him as he spoke the last time to the United Nations. Many in this country say that since there is a strong middle class in Tehran it would counter act the fanaticism of the Mullahs. Perhaps but I don’t want the security of my nation to be in the hands of the good will of Iran’s middle class! Besides if the button is pushed in Tehran there will be no consultation with Iran’s middle class!
Meanwhile Bush is preparing an anti-missile system for Europe that most don’t want and is driving a wedge between us and Russia. By playing on fear Putin is weaning Russia away from democracy! Bush is Putin’s enabler in this quest.
Most important is the message that Bush is sending to Iran with the proposed European nuclear anti-missile system! The presumption of such a system is that America will allow Iran to have nukes! This destroys any creditability we have in discussions with Iran presuming Bush would have such discussions! Iran cannot be allowed to have nukes! They could be given or sold to terrorists, who could then deliver them to their targets in America without ICBM’s. Both Iran and North Korea get away with this because of our damaged military deterrence from the continued Iraq War!
The war in Iraq has weakened our nation in several respects. A wise general knows his army, resources and the terrain before he commits to a battle. Some in both political parties feel we should not proactively fight a war on terrorism! I totally disagree. My disagreement with Bush is his choice of the battlefield and his tactics. We must face several issues concerning our nation and the War on Terrorism:
- We excel at “Shock and Awe” (Mother Goddess forgive me for being politically incorrect)! But we don’t want to engage in extended occupations! If we understand and accept that generally we don’t want to get involved in extended occupations, then we can devise more appropriate military solutions!
- The War in Iraq damaged our reputation in the world in that no WMD were found. Future accusations by our intelligence community will not be trusted by our allies! Even rational people in America will have cause to wonder.
- We don’t want to advertise our dislike for casualties. Especially not against an Islamic foe that sends its members to commit suicide! Actually the losses we suffered in Iraq are very minimal compared to other wars we have been in. The issue is that we paid a price for NOTHING! We excel at shock and awe so we should have done so and then left after installing a friendly General who would pay lip service to democracy.
- Democracy may not be the answer in the Middle East. Just look at Palestine! The folks in the street hate us and there is little we can do about it! Yes I know this is hard for a Vietnam era hippie like myself to say but it is true! We need to restore our CIA’s ability to engage cut throats and covert operations to over throw rogue regimes! Think of it this way! Overthrowing the “Dear Leader” of North Korea and the Mullahs of Iran is a GREEN SOLUTION rather than a Red bloody solution. It is not only cost effective but has less of an environmental impact. CIA covert regime change of rogue governments is eco-friendly!
- North Korea has still not been tamed! What the heck where they doing in Syria?
- Our economy is a valuable weapon lets not waste it by exporting American jobs and technology to the enemies of freedom!
The time has come for America’s Silent Majority: our great Middle Class to take back our nation from these effete snobs of George Bush and his fellow travelers!
Many are fascinated by the candidacy of Republican Ron Paul who espouses an Anti-Iraqi War policy. I do enjoy listening to him zing his fellow Republicans in the Republican debates. If you watch him in this video he is appealing concerning the war but be careful about his “freedom rhetoric”.
There is a real danger here from Ron Paul if we value individual liberty and freedom. This reminds me of some hippies many years ago who voted for the Libertarian Party candidates because the so-called Libertarians would allow these hippies to smoke marijuana! Does anyone remember the book “Brave New World” where the society was ruled by a “Council of Fords”! The free market reigned supreme and social stratification was inbred. Ah but you were allowed to have drugs and the movie theaters even had Marijuana smoke pumped into them to placate the masses! Great price for the right to smoke pot and have some trinkets! The price was the loss of Middle Class Consciousness and Individual Freedom!
Ron Pauls’s America would be a similar place. Like a sports game where the elected referee was removed thus giving the illusion of “freedom” but then the BULLY would reign supreme! In the absence of governmental power the individual’s freedom would be subject to the bully power of the Corporation! These “Neo-Collectivists” who demand that we pledge our life long loyalty to them, but then discard the individual at their slightest whim, are the people that Ron Paul serves!
Do not be deceived by the simplistic notions of Ron Paul. The “Income Tax”, which Ron Paul and his fellow travelers want to eliminate, is the only means of controlling the increased social class stratification of America. The upper class is paid way out of their proportion to their contribution. The progressive income tax is a means of making an adjustment. The modern American Middle Class came about because of progressive taxation being a balance to the licentious permissiveness of Corporate America’s greed. If we lived in an era of individual farmers, each owning their land with large families to provide for them in their old age, then Ron Paul might be correct.
However in the 21st Century while the Soviet Collectives are dead, a new sinister force threatens individual liberty! That sinister beast is the CORPORATE COLLECTIVE. With their priesthood of so-called Human Resource professionals, we as individuals must feint interest in their stock reports to get a job. Like who cares! Maybe the reason a corporation’s stock is good is because they underpay their employees! Sure an employee needs to be a “team member” and give honest work! But why should I subjugate my individual freedom and needs to that of the share holder. Where do I fit into this “collective”. But instead Ron Paul and his “Borg” fellow travelers demand that we, like the freedom loving individual on the Star Trek series, should be assimilated by the Borg and lose our individuality to the Corporation’s needs!
Yes Congressman Ron Paul I want:
- Freedom from health care: Don’t let the government provide me with health care like every modern European nation does. Freedom from National Health Care means paying extravagant medical bills while hoping the Corporation will not fire me! Yes Ron Paul that is the freedom I want to serve the Corporate Collective!
- Freedom from economic security: Who needs economic security when you own a house and have mortgage payments to make or are raising a family! My purpose is to serve the Corporate Collective! If I had economic security I might even dare to seek higher pay or God forbid start my own business! For the sake of the Corporate Elite that is why it is so important that I have FREEDOM FROM HEALTH CARE and FREEDOM FROM ECONOMIC SECURITY.
- Freedom from Social Security: By all means end this evil wicked program I don’t need that in my old age!
- Most importantly is FREEDOM from asserting my Individual needs over the Corporate Collective: If I should study hard to become a computer programmer by all means use “selective government intervention” to bring in foreign H1-b Visa workers to undercut my salary. The needs of the Corporate Collective come first!
Does the above satire mean I am advocating unlimited social spending? No we do need a balanced budget. Let’s have a line item veto and stop pork barrel spending. But we need a new consciousness in America! The consciousness of individuality by the Middle Class that is independent of the Corporate Collectivist elite on one side and the Al Sharptons and the PC crowd on the other.
The time has come for America’s Silent Majority – Our great Middle Class to stand up to these bullies who want us to subjugate our individual freedom to the Corporate Collective.
The death of the innocents in Armenia will not go away! Why the vote just now? Well it has been proposed year in and year out. This time it has a prospect of succeeding and I hope it does! This is not an attempt to brand the current Turks as Nazis. But the fact is that this Holocaust did occur and Nazi Germany was not the only place where these atrocities happened. Perhaps if the world loudly condemned the Armenian Holocaust and punished those who committed these crimes after the war then the Nazis would have had second thoughts about committing the Jewish Holocaust.
Question: Why bring this up now with the war in Iraq taking place we need Turkey as an ally?
Answer: We could have left Iraq after the removal of Saddam and placed a friendly Baath Party LE (Light Edition) regime in its place. But we chose to engage in a Neo-Con Social Engineering Experiment. We demanded a western style democracy in Iraq as a social force against Islamic Fundamentalism! Well it seems right next door one of our allies still does not want to deal with the issue of genocide and religious self-righteousness! Turkey screwed up our invasion of Iraq by not allowing us to transport troops through her territory. What is worse is that Turkey did this at the last minute. So when the bleeding hearts in Republican Party whine about us hurting our relationship with Turkey lets us remember that Americans lost their lives because of this last minute turn around by Turkey. Also the fact that we did not have a fast northern access into Iraq aided the insurgency! But we cannot blame the insurgency on Turkey, but rather the bad planning of the Bush Administration which should have prepared for the Iraq occupation and even this Congressional Resolution! This resolution was proposed every year. But even more important is the moral issue!
I just love these political and even religious conservatives. They point the finger at liberals and accuse liberals of “ethical relativity” and “moral relativism”.
Question: But isn’t there a difference between what happened in Nazi Germany and Armenia?
Answer: It was wrong in Nazi Germany and it was wrong in Turkey. There is a difference! In modern Germany it is a crime to deny the Jewish Holocaust as well it should be! Nazis are outlawed! Yet in Turkey it is a crime to say the Armenian Holocaust even existed! Germany has repented and now has model laws to prevent the horrible crimes that where done against the Jews. Turkey on the other hand has not developed a sense of social responsibility! Some of their fellow travelers in the Republican Party and yes even the Democratic Party want to be “enablers” for the Turkish Government. Maybe Germany can serve as a role model for Turkey. No one is calling the present day Turks killers. I would support language in the resolution for a face saving mechanism for modern Turks. Hell we Americans realize we killed Native Americans and had slaves. We admit we were wrong! What I find amazing is that some Jewish groups are not supporting the Armenians! What is this some kinky sick neurotic contest for “My Holocaust Was Worse Than Yours”! All genocides are wrong! I am a religious person but all religions have gone through this stage. The Muslims are not the only ones. They however just don’t want to take responsibility. Genocide is as old as mankind. We Christians and Jews have undergone growth and don’t take our scripture above reason. Muslims have not had a reformation and “modernity” is an evil concept to them. But we have overcome delightful tidbits like these in our scripture!

I believe this Resolution MUST pass. Besides what is the worst that could happen? We might have to end this Republican Social Engineering Experiment in Iraq sooner! Now wouldn’t that be just aweful!
Well it seems that the foreign Japanese car manufacturer “Honda” wants to invade the American market to sell cars and send the profits back to Japan. The Japanese defend their economic boundaries at home with stiff regulations against American firms competing. However in America they are advocates of “open boundaries” except to exclude union workers from their factories.
Honda is hiring for a new auto factory in Indiana. However they are restricting their hiring of workers to counties in Indiana where the union membership is weak. No they are not simply locating their plant in a low union area but are going even further by forbidding the hiring of workers from counties that have Union households. Who gives Honda the right to set boundaries inside the United States? Has George Bush and his fellow travelers given Honda the right to set up a “fiefdom” in America?
This is not simply an example of a foreign corporation wanting America to be open to their interest while at home their government is closed to ours. No this goes even further! Honda is operating like GM would love to act! As I mentioned in a prior post, Jim Crammer the darling of free enterprise, wants to destroy unions! Jim Crammer was a guest on MSNBC’s “Hardball”. He said on that show “to save GM the union must be broken….If that happened GM’s stock would go up five times. This is America and that is what counts”. Not my America Jim!
This is a perfect example of what Lou Dobbs calls “the War on the Middle Class”! Oh the bleeding hearts of the Republican Right and some of their lackeys in the Democratic Party, all swallow this krap about preserving “individual freedom” from government intervention. Well I want to see our national Government intervene to stop Honda from creating a “fiefdom” in Indiana! No I don’t want to stop them from opening a plant! But when they try to restrict Unions from protecting workers then we do need government intervention!
The American Middle Class had better develop a consciousness of its interests. Else individual freedom will be subverted to these Corporate Collectivists, be they Japanese or American! These Collectivists who want you to subvert your interests to the corporate welfare are solely interested in profits for the shareholders. Fine that is their interests but not that of the INDIVIDUAL! We face growing medical costs and fears for retirement! This is not just a blue collar issue! Unions would be best served if they spoke not about workers but “employees”! Just look at how the H1-b Visa program is destroying the computer and technology professions and will soon be used against all professions that require a college degree.
The time has come for America’s great Silent Majority – Our Great Middle Class (and those who aspire to be) to stand up for the individual in this age of these effete snobs of the CORPORATE COLLECTIVISTS! God Bless America and the Middle Class!
Oh the bleeding hearts of the right wing! Whenever the new media does not follow their agenda and advance their priorities they label it “liberal news media biases”! Those of you who are old enough to remember the 60’s might recall a rage of the time called “Transactional Analysis” with such books as “The Games People Play” and “I’m OK, Your OK”. Well it seems to me that the Ann Coulter crowd loves to play the game of “Injustice Collector”. When she and her fellow travellers collect enough “trading stamps” in their imagination they are then entitled to call liberals “unpatriotic” or as in the case of the 40 something miniskirt wearing Ann Coulter, she labels those she disagrees with as “fags”!
As a Non-PC liberal I suggest we play the Transactional Analysis game of “Injustice Collector”! Using Ann Coulter’s standards I believe NBC has pro-conservative news media biases! Has anyone heard that the President of Iraq believes most American troops can be out by the end of 2008! Also he backs Senator Joe Biden’s plan for a soft partition of Iraq into three states, Kurdish, Sunni and Shiite!
Yet NBC did not report this on their nightly news cast! They are practicing Pro-Conservative News Media Biases! Heck the news media hardly even reported that Senator Joe Biden’s plan for a soft partition of Iraq received 75 votes! Kudos to the Boston Globe for noticing that aspect of the pro-conservative news media slant!
