I am a rabid economic liberal who voted for Barrack Obama. I do not believe this Stimulus Package has enough strength to stop the crisis we are in. I believed the bill would push money into Infrastructure Repair, Alternative Energy Research, and an improved Electric Grid. What I see instead is a huge pork barrel bill! If you read my last post I you will note that the inclusion of free funding for trojans is NOT what I find problematic.  Preventing teen pregnancy and the increase of both Welfare Mothers and gangs of teenage boys without fathers is worth the investment. I am not swayed by conservatives and their philosophy that got us into this mess! But when I heard Jim Crammer on Chris Matthews’s program “Hard Ball” explain how little this bill contains for Infrastructure Renewal I became enraged and feel a level of betrayal from the Democratic Party. What the hell are they doing? We know the Republicans are idiots and don’t care about the Middle Class but why are the Democrats going on this masochistic plunge? (See the Video Below).

This situation requires some thinking and a need by politicians to rise above their party. I would say that the Republicans have a point in that tax cuts would be helpful only I want them for the Middle Class not the top 5%. But we have a problem with Tax Cuts!

In the old days a Tax Rebate and/or permanent tax cut would set off the desired “Multiplier Effect”! John/Jane Doe gets his rebate and he goes out and spends it on some goods. The store they purchase it from makes out and they re-order more goods from the factory which pays the salaries of their employees who buy stuff at their local stores. The factory also must buy raw materials and/or component parts to build their goods and the companies they buy from benefit also. Not so today! John and Jane Doe buy their new product from the store that purchased it from CHINA! The “Multiplier Effect” is only multiplying our TRADE DEFICIT not our economic strength!

What about massive goverment spending on projects?

If the package is geared to infrastructure projects, alternative energy development, building a new electric and internet grid then the fruits of these projects may not be realized for one to three years. Some would say that each state has “shovel ready” projects that the Federal Government has only to quickly fund. I smell bacon frying in statements like this and I am a Liberal Democrat!

I believe the Democrats are being set up to fail. George Bush kept his mouth shut during the last three months of his Presidency, not that anyone cared what he had to say! But I believe Obama is being set up because his image is being “paired” with it on the national news media when it was Bush and his fellow travelers of deregulation that brought this on. Don’t kid yourself even when the unemployment comes down then we will be hit by a high wave of inflation! We can find all this money to save the fat cats on Wall Street but what about Universal Health Care? Have you noticed the Republicans love to lead the charge against Wall Street CEO’s drawing bonuses? The Democrats had better stop being so timid and attack even louder instead of being scared of being accused of class warfare. If they don’t the Republicans are setting the Democrats up for defeat in the 2010 election because we sill still have economic problems then even if the plan were to work that is when the inflation will hit us. Many our too young to remember what inflation can do.

I am not an economist but here is what I would propose:

• Massive spending on Infrastructure, Electric and Internet Grid development.
• Alternative Energy Research and Development.
• Green Technology projects including funding for competitive Auto Technology so our auto industry could take the lead in the world.
• Tax breaks for the majority of Americans while raising those for the top 5%.
• Nationalize the banks and let them serve society rather than society serving them!

But wait you say except for the last item above isn’t that what Obama and the Democrats are proposing! Well yes that is what I thought they were proposing but from what I see of this so-called stimulus package it is just a Mega-Pork Barrel! WHERE IS THE BEEF?

As I said in my prior post I have no problem with free Trojans but I do with Golden Parachutes! Maybe we should nationalize the banks! If a company is too big to fail then it is too big to exist! We need to regulate, Regulate and REGULATE! Oh yes besides the free Trojans we can give out free Kleenex tissues to all the bleeding hearts for the rich! The time has come to worry about the PRODUCERS in this nation not the parasites!

Who are these people to make millions while the President of The United States, who has far more responsibility yet only makes $400K per year? The time has come for America’s vast Silent Majority to take back our nation from these effete snobs of privilege!

Mr. President put the condoms back in the stimulus plan! I for one am for the inclusion of Trojans in the Economic Stimulus Package! I feel that Trojans are getting a bad wrap in regard to the Stimulus Package! That’s right and I am not joking! Aside from the fact that Trojan makers are workers and increasing their factory workforce is good for America, did any of these wild eyed conservatives ever think about what happens in an economic down turn? People go for cheap entertainment – sex! What we don’t need now is more teenage pregnancy and WELFARE MOTHERS! Besides to hear the Republicans you would believe that Trojans are the main thrust of the Democratic plan! 

Remember when George Bush came to office and Clinton left a balanced budget with a SURPLUS! Bush had no problem cutting taxes for the wealthy while our economy sank. His stewardship will result in not only this quasi-depression but the upcomming INFLATION! So what are we to do if we are to act fast? Hey there is no perfect economic plan.

Make no mistake about it George Bush set us up for both a depression and inflation and they will try to pin it on the Democrats because while we may avoid a full depression I doubt we can avoid the inflation!

But let’s say the Obama package does not work! Compare the residual effects compared to the Republican plan. The Republicans want us to bail out Corporate America and all we will have to show for it is golden parachutes for rich executives who don’t need it or contribute to our society. Oh yes and the extension of the Bush Tax Cuts for the rich. The residual effect is that we will have Corporate Jets and Vacations for the effete snobs of Corporate America! However if Obama’s plan fails well at least we will have:

• Money to send school kids to view the Arts.
• An energy independence program to fight our dependence on foreign and even domestic oil.
• Roads, bridges and highways that are repaired.
• A new national electric grid.
• An auto industry that will have clean efficient technology to compete in the world market!
  
• A new faster internet that will serve education and even corporate America.
• Reduction of WELFARE MOTHERS by making condoms available to teens. Not every girl’s mom is the Governor of Alaska!
• Our nation will have less unwanted fatherless boys roaming our streets raising the crime rate!

I choose TROJANS over GOLDEN PARACHUTES! Kudos to President Obama he is addressing an issue that the Republicans love to talk the talk but not do the walk! Don’t give me this krap that we need to teach kids abstinence! The religious right could have done that years ago but teen pregnancy continues to rise! No we are not going to base even 1% of the package on Trojans. But they are important!

Isn’t it amazing how the chorus of Republicans are out there not supporting our President in these troubled times yet when Bush was President they were all for “Drill Baby Drill” even if the results would take 15 years for a meager result. Their argument was that the market is based on “psychology” and if we demonstrate something is being done then that in itself brings IMMEDIATE market psychology benefits! Strange isn’t that infrastructure building will bring results in a far shorter time and is more massive, yet they don’t see a “rally psychology” in that! Oh maybe we should have another war with pork projects for Haliburton!

Let’s use Republican slogans now shall we! Oh they whine like they “own” America and patriotism! Well now why don’t they “Support our President in this time of crises”! America’s Great Silent Majority – our Middle Class demand it!

Once again in this era of licentious permissiveness the BLEEDING HEARTS of the Republican Party whine about how the Corporate Wealthy are so overburdened by regulations while they have driven our economy to the ground! Now apparently they have used OUR SOLDIERS to ground their profits by installing faulty electric equipment in our military bases in Iraq! One of Halliburton’s subsidiary’s fellow travelers, a company called “KBR” has now been blamed for the death of Staff Sgt. Ryan Maseth. He died from electrocution due to faulty electrical workmanship while taking a shower! He is not the first.

What we are seeing my friends is just another example of an era of Licentious Permissiveness, where anything goes when it comes to corporations making money! Why not with Halliburton after all they not only do contract work for us in Iraq but also our sworn enemies, the Shiite nut jobs in Iran! Oh dear but we won’t want to put “REGULATIONS” now on these giant CORPORATE COLLECTIVISTS who make their money while we in the Middle Class work! Well that is at least those of us who have not seen our jobs off shored to foreign lands by these CUT AND RUN CAPITALISTS who have no loyalty to the nation that gave them birth, protection and profits!

I would not want to hamper the profit making style of my “social betters” like those who invest in Halliburton? So what they invested in Iran, the nation who is sending arms to cripple and kill our soldiers! <See Video Above>. Saying “no” to corporations would undermine “freedom”! We need to know our social place! What place nasty “Regulations” on these advocates of 21^st Century Collectivization? Never I say!

I believe in FREEDOM From Corporate Responsibility!

• We should “Know our place” in the new scheme of “CORPORATE COLLECTIVIZATION”.
• So what that de-regulation has placed us in a situation where we had to spend at least $700 billion to bail out Corporate America! Far better that we deregulate then spend $100 Billion on Universal Health Care. If we did that then people would be able to feel some “independence” from the CORPORATE COLLECTIVES they are employed by! We don’t want that!- NEVER!
  
• Due to the large size of these Corporate Collectives we cannot let them fail thus we must  pay to bail them out ! But look at the bright side! Our futures will be bleak and we will fear for our jobs and being without universal health care, with fear of unemployment we can fall behind on either our mortgages and/or credit cards and thus pay higher interest to our SOCIAL BETTERS!

Yes my fellow Middle Class Americans and that is how they define “FREEDOM”!

I want freedom from corporate responsibility because it means:

• Freedom from Universal Health Care!
• Freedom From A secure economic future! Today on the MSNBC Website we have more good news! Business Week Magazine says we can forget about Retirement! Isn’t that wonderful!
• YES FREEDOM FROM RETIREMENT! – Ah yes only in America! I only wish George Bush had his way and had privatized Social Security!

This is pure bull shit! When is the SILENT MAJORITY – our great Middle Class going to say enough of this! If my tax dollars are going to bail out these companies then we should collectively own a majority of their stock, at least till the government can recoup it’s losses! Who are these people to make millions of dollars in salaries while the President makes only $400K per year and has far more responsibility!

Look at what has happened to blue collar jobs but also white collar technical jobs! What jobs have not been off shored are now being filled legally by foreign H1-b Visa holders to force down the wages of those who are trying to adapt to the new age of technology! Some white collar employees are even unionizing in the computer field! Meanwhile these CUT AND RUN CORPORATIONS leave the nation and even take up phony Headquarters on Caribbean Islands to avoid paying their taxes! Haliburton however really is moving their Corporate HQ!

That is why I use the term “CUT AND RUN CAPITALISTS”. These are both corporations and individual investors who send America’s jobs, wealth, technology and security off shore, and frequently to the enemies of America! Look at the recent Dubai Ports deal! They don’t care for Port Security but “Portfolio Security” – theirs! Well the deal was stopped but none the less Halliburton has moved their Corporate Headquarters to Dubai! I guess they want to be closer to their fellow travelers in Iran! While you cannot always fault individual investors who buy foreign stocks, we need a program to protect America’s “PRODUCERS” – no I am not talking about rich Trust Fund kids who don’t have to work or even Heiresses! I am talking about the Silent Majority of America! That is to say our great forgotten Middle Class! Have you noticed how these effete snobs of privilege like to appropriate the term, “producers” for themselves? To hell with just rolling back the Bush Tax Cuts. We need to roll back the Reagan Tax Cuts! Strange isn’t it that in Europe they still have millionaires even with their higher tax rates! I am not against those who are rich. What I resent is those who are rich making it impossible for others to have a decent life! Do any of these people contribute 100 times more to society then those of us in the Middle Class?

The time has come to STAND UP FOR AMERICA against these effete snobs of privilege!

Tonight on one local news cast on WPIX,  the anchor said that President Obama flubbed his oath. Not true it was the Republican Chief Justice! (Yet another instance of anti-liberal news media biases) Ah but could this be a conspiracy! Just look at the video below from the Associated Press! We don’t see Barrack HUSSEIN Obama’s hand on a Bible for the second oath now do we? I am sure the wacko Republicans will speculate that President Obama swore his second oath on the Koran! Actually I loved it when he used his middle name in the oath! The right wing nuts called Barrack Obama:

• A mere celebrity

• Fluffed up orator with no substance

• Inexperienced

• A friend of terrorists

Well now they will have to call Barrack HUSSEIN Obama something else!

Meanwhile George “National Guard DESERTER” Bush has finally left office!

Thank God George Bush is gone. After finding our nation with a budget surplus we now face a possible second depression. Can you imagine if that idiot George Bush had his way and privatized Social Security? Oh the bleeding hearts of the right talk like he saved us from a terrorist attack. Well the first attack against the World Trade Center occurred on February 26, 1993 and the second on Sept. 11, 20001. So apparently it took Al Qaeda a while to mount the following attack. Thus George Bush has not protected us. Then there was Katrina and the attempted Dubai Ports deal.

I hope we not only roll back the Bush tax cuts to the rich but the Regan tax cuts also. When I think about the cost of Universal Health Care and the money we have wasted on these giant corporations it makes one really believe the Republicans are out to bring about the “Collectivization of America”! Where is the loyalty from these CUT AND RUN CAPITALISTS who ship our jobs, wealth and technology overseas and frequently to the enemies of America!

The time has come for America’s vast Silent Majority – our Great Middle Class to stand up and take our nation back from these effete snobs of corporate privilege!

Well finally it seems that some in our government are not going to play word games! Military Judge Susan Crawford prevented the prosecution of one terrorist because he was tortured. Also the new incoming Attorney General, Eric Holder has stated before Congress that “Water boarding is torture indeed”! Hey does anyone remember the self righteous Republicans ranting on Bill Clinton because he used word games to not take responsibility for his having sex with Monica Lewinsky? True Bill Clinton was wrong. But I have noticed something about Presidents who screw up. They either screw around with their marriages or they remain faithful to their wives but screw up their Constitutional Oath to the nation! Remember Richard Nixon!

This blog is by a Non-PC Liberal Populist Democrat! I enjoyed listening to Keith Olbermann and I watch him often. But let me now present you my reader with the antithesis and then create a synthesis of practical idealism.

Carl Jung had an interesting theory. He called it “The Shadow”. We like to pretend we live in a world of light or idealism! The “flying boy” is one such myth that Jungians frequently use to illustrate how we don’t always want to accept that sometimes idealism doesn’t always serve us fully. We also like to point out other’s shadows but not our own. In a society that prides itself on “convenience”,

• Where sex without the “ideal’ of immediate marriage is rationally tolerated,
• Where the “convenience of abortion” is rationally accepted over the burden of idealistic pro-life theology or the diminution of hedonistic pleasure by wearing a condom we have a dilemma! No I am not against abortion but only trying to bring it out of the Jungian Shadow and demonstrate we can live with “cognitive dissonance“! <Read further>

That dilema is the “Ticking Bomb” scenario as presented by Allan Dershowitz! How do we deal with the fact that terrorists may soon have the capability of inflicting a plague on our nation or a nuclear catastrophe? Liberal lawyer Allan Dershowitz has advocated the usage of “Torture Warrants” in such cases. However to do so would then bring out into the light of day the fact that every nation will use torture under some circumstance and we would prefer not to lower our ideals! The video below should be viewed to balance Keith Olbermann’s above. You can relax while watching it as it is only some college kids making a point. It is not a real beheading!

ISSUE: It is argued that using torture would subject our troops to the same practice!

ANSWER: The restricted usage would only be against terrorists who are about to cause massive civilian deaths not enemy troops engaged in combat. Besides just look at the beheadings that terrorists have done against innocent civilians! When faced with massive deaths shouldn’t we have the “CONVENIENCE” of extracting needed information even if it cannot be used to prosecute? In such a scenario it is lives that we value not conviction. Yes it will create “cognitive dissonance” between our behavior and our ideals but we value the “convenience” that abortion gives us! No I am not against abortion I am just trying to make us face our own cultural “Shadows”! Sure when it comes to torture, we can say “where will it end” but as a supporter of abortion I don’t seem to have a problem with “when will it end” now do I. Oh my God can you believe I said that!

ISSUE: Why not have such “Torture Warrants” issued by a “Committee For Public Safety” as the beheadings were sanctioned in the French Revolution?

ANSWER: This is a danger. Life is full of dangers. We had the “Reichstag Fire” and the resulting “Enabling Act” that justified Hitler’s rise to power. We live in an imperfect world! I like Allan Dershowitz’s answer! He wants it out in the public. That would “Jungian De-Shadowize” the issue. The Warrant would have to meet the ticking bomb criteria, made public and signed by the Chief Justice and the President!

One reason why Republicans and Conservatives get away with all the things they do is that Liberals frequently “surrender” the issue of patriotism and national security to Conservatives and Republicans! In the prior election however this was not the case we finally cleaned up our act. We separated the issue of the current war from the issue of national security! None the less you can count on my fellow liberals who love to go on masochistic binges by defending stupid behavior! But then again if more guys purchased a Trojan and “suffered” the inconvenience (oops bad word “inconvenience”) of some diminution of sexual pleasure then there would be less children born out of wedlock and/or less abortions! If more woman insisted on this then there would be less need of the “convenience” of an abortion! But let’s not deal with “our Jungian Shadows as liberals, but point with self righteous indignation instead at the Republicans!

My fellow Liberal Democrats I want more inaugurations of future Liberal Democrats as President and as members of Congress. We must push for corporations to have “Social Responsibility”! Let’s insure that by not letting Conservatives “steal” the issues of patriotism and defending America else we will lose future elections! Oh yes -  “God Bless America”!
