Today I heard John McCain on CBS’s program “Face The Nation.” To use the bloated language of the right wing, John McCain needs to “learn the lessons of history!” According to John McCain the big shots who draw large salaries for their legal expertise did not commit a crime. Instead they merely gave “bad advice!” WHAT planet are you on Senator McCain? When I served in the military we were told NO TORTURE – PERIOD! (see video below).

This doesn’t take a rocket scientist Senator McCain. The prior Administration broke the law. Now some of you who are reading this post may ask the question, So what? The issue is not simply:

• That we are violating the Geneva Convention which has the force of LAW in our nation,
• Nor that this practice of torture served as a recruiting tool by Al Qaeda, John McCain even acknowleges that in the video above!
• That the Republicans accused Democrats of “not supporting our troops” by saying we tortured in Iraq and Guantanamo!

THE ISSSUE IS THIS:

If water boarding and similar practices go unpunished and are allowed to be defined as “enhanced interrogation techniques” what is to prevent such practices and definitions being used against American Citizens at home by future Administrations or even the local police!

So am I going over board? I don’t think so! Let’s remember as conservatives love to say, “the lessons of history”!

Remember folks these are “Republicans” we are talking about. The very same people who believe that owning an assault weapon and keeping it in your home is as American as apple pie! Why? Because they believe it is a final line of defense against the Government taking away the rights of the individual! So excuse me and my fellow liberals if we fear our civil liberties being destroyed by an Administration that says”

“This is America and we don’t torture!” (George Bush)

I heard this line over and over by that deserter in Chief, George Bush! Always with that sickening smirking face! I fear future Presidents saying the same or even a local prosecutor! Where is the incentive to not practice these acts?  Also they attacked liberals for attributing “torture” to our troops! Now with more pictures to be released concerning this rampant practice of torture in Iraq by American troops we are merely to believe that lawyers in Washington “gave bad advice”, as Senator McCain said in the video above! By calling this “bad advice” we have to wonder what is the ethical capability of Republicans! Oh perhaps John McCain is going to lecture us on “ethical relativity”! But I thought that is something they accuse us liberal Democrats of practicing! You know “if it feels good then do it”!

Poor bleeding heart John McCain! He accuses Democrats of being like Dictators in a Banana Republic by going after the prior administration!

So if we let Senator McCain have his way then Republicans have a carte Blanche! After all the fuss the Republicans made about President Bill Clinton and his affair with Monica Lewinsky, the way they dragged this nation through all details while a war in Kosova was going on, they are going to lecture us on “moving forward”! Yeah right. If the Democrats don’t go after Cheney and the Republicans for this then what incentive does a future administration have to think twice about engaging in TORTURE! The only protection we would then have is the “definition” by what ever party is currently in power!

America’s Silent Majority, our great Middle Class, demand LAW AND ORDER! Senator McCain’s logic is the logic that gave Germany it’s “Enabling Laws” that produced the Third Reich! Some can say, “but they were only terrorists”! Some where but not all at Gauantamo! Nor where those who were TORTURED in Iraq! Only a court can define one as a terrorist! Maybe we should release our nation of it’s courts and let the Republicans be our judge and jury!

When the new torture pictures are released remember these Republicans told us “Our troops do not torture”! They made it a patriotic issue! Now they say they were only acting under “bad advice” from some Washington bureaucrats! Ethical Relativity – Republican style! President Obama MUST go after these criminals to the fullest extent of the law.

Maybe we should all buy assault weapons because in the future the Republicans may have the likes of Blackwater patroling our streets!

If there is one Republican who I really cannot stand it is Rudy Giuliani. John McCain at least did wage war against K – Street in the 2000 election! Now we have former Mayor Giuliani attacking Gay Marriage. The very same guy who has been married three times and when his then wife pushed the “manly mayor” out of the official residence he went and stayed with his gay friends!

This is the Mayor who likes to dress up for comedy parties (see above). The above video is a joke but Rudy Giuliani is no joke! When the tragedy of 9–11 too place Mayor Giuliani wanted to have his term extended due to a “State of Emergency”. Then bragged that he as a federal prosecutor used “enhanced interrogation techniques” against the Mafia! What did he force them to watch movies of him dancing in drag! The guy in the video below asks a question that I did in this blog when the Republican Primary for President was underway last year.

Rudy Giuliani is nothing but an opportunist! We had a Civil War in this country yet we still had an election. The British fought World War II and had a change of government in one day after a no confidence vote in Parliament. Does anyone remember the “Reichstag Fire” and the resultant “Enabling Act” that allowed Hitler to take power? No I don’t go as far as to say Giuliani is a Hitler. But he would undermine our Constitution.

It is important to remember that when someone takes the oath to be Presidet he does not swear to defend the United States! He instead swears to DEFEND THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA against all enemies foreign and domestic!

Yet we hear in this era the constant whining by the Republicans about the need for a  “strict constructionist” interpretation of the Constitution! Why don’t they practice what they preach? Water-boarding is torture! Rudy Giuliani better re-examine what defending marriage as an institution in this society means! Maybe we should out law divorce!

America has to many challenges to face in this 21st Century. Let’s not let Rudy Guiliani “DRAG” us down the right wing path of distraction. Remember Americans love “action figures”! Bush got elected the second time for real when he waged war. True he should have been doing it in Afghanistan instead of Iraq but Americans want “ACTION”! Obama got elected because the issue now is the economy and the Republicans wanted to continue the same old lack of Government intervention routine. Obama instead gave us “ACTION”!

The problem is that Republicans love to side track us from the real issues. Scaring people about Gays is their last hope. We Democrats need to become more active in demonstrating to the American people that the Republicans only want to advance the cause of the corporate elite! That is why pointing out the FAILED MARRIAGES of people like Giuliani and John McCain is not cruel but necessary! That Democrats have failed marriages really is not the issue because we don’t play the morality routine! That is why we should have been more forceful in defending money for condoms when the President’s budget originally came out.

Maybe if Sarah Palin had given one to her daughter she would not be in the problems she faces now. Believe me I am NOT making fun of her! This is what it comes down to:

• Not every teenage girl has a mommy who is also a Governor!
  
• Just what our nation needs now one more WELFARE MOTHER and
  
• More fatherless boys to roam our streets with the potential to join gangs!
  

We must be FORCEFUL in pointing out how the Republicans are such hypocrites! We don’t need any more of Giuliani and Palin spreading their hate!

As i mentioned in a prior post the Conservatives don’t seem to care that CUT AND RUN CAPITALISTS have no problem in tearing down the flag of our nation from their merchant ships in order to avoid paying their fair share of taxes to the nation that gave them birth, succor, protection and yes PROFITS! Instead they register their American ships in Liberia or Panama. Now the Republican Governor of Texas flirts with the idea of Secession! Yo we had a Civil War you right wing jerk! See Rachel Madow in the Video below)

The BLEEDING HEARTS of the Republican Party and their fellow travelers (remember that rhetoric from the right wing during the Vietnam War) look the other way while the Governor of Texas hints at “Secession from the Union”! Well then he is in the tradition of his fellow traveler Governor Sarah Palin, who last year addressed the Alaskan Independence Party Convention. True she was NOT a formal member, unlike her husband but she did attend their functions! You know “just paling around with secessionists!” With few exceptions you did not hear a word from the news media about Sarah Pallin and her connection to these rabid seccessionists who want to tear down the flag of our nation and replace it with the flag of Alaska!

What is even worse is that Democratic Party leaders and officials let the Republicans get away with this!

Can you hear the cry of “MEOW” from Democratic Party Headquarters? How about some testosterone shots? Let’s kick some Republican ass while we wave the American flag! What is the matter with the Democratic Party have they been eating to much tofu that they cannot muster up the balls to really use this as a PATRIOTIC ISSUE against the Republicans? God can you imagine if that had been Obama who talked about seccession or addressed the Alaskan Independence Party?

This is a situation that is tailor made for us Democrats! Time to wave the flag and denounce these TRAITORS to our flag and country!

• Stop being a pal to Secessionists – JUST SAY NO!
• Stand Up For America when the CUT AND RUN CAPITALISTS tear down our flag from their merchant vessels to hoist the flag of Profiteering! The last ship was under our flag and I am glad we saved them. But in the future that will not always be the case. Got Pirates then hold a Tea Party and invite the vast Liberian and Panamanian naval fleets to protect you. Why should our service men and woman die for CUT AND RUN CAPITALISTS! Have your Tea Party with the pirates you idiots!

The Silent Majority – Our Great Middle Class has had enough of this permissiveness! Stand up for America!

Well this liberal Euro style Social Democrat does not believe in the orthodoxy of corporate greed nor the masochistic “I hate America” political orthodoxy of the politically correct. Just think of the dilemma of some of my liberal friends when the issue turns to Afghanistan! Now for the advantage of getting re-elected the Afghan President has pushed a law that sets back the rights of woman in his country. True the law only effects the Shiite section not the larger Sunni section of Afghanistan.

My anti-Bush credentials are impeccable. Just read this blog and you can see that for yourself. But I do enjoy showing my fellow liberals their tendency to create a new orthodoxy.

Just what is a politically correct liberal to do in the case of this set back in Afghanistan? On the one hand they do love to blame America for all the world’s troubles. Well then not everything is the fault of America there is also that nasty nasty religion, you know “Christianity!” Ah yes they actually advocate “having dominion over the earth”, as stated in the Book of Genesis! After all Islam is a religion of “peeeeeeece” which is the mantra of the politically correct.

I know, I know, I know the Muslims did not generate the disparaging of woman they LEARNED IT FROM US CHRISTIANS! Yes that’s it! – Wrong!

Now we have been told that we are not going to get involved in “nation building”. So we will hold our noses and fight in Afghanistan and fight for our national interests like we did in Vietnam. George Bush, I am afraid to say, actually learned the lessons of Vietnam and tried to insure that if we fought in the third world we would not back some one like General Ky whom we backed in Vietnam. But that also has it’s problems as we have learned.

Yes I am for pulling out of Iraq and was only for removing Saddam Hussein not the nation building that followed. George Bush slowly realized he could not do it and our model of democracy in Iraq slowly was lowered.

But my point is this! What are we to do in Afghanistan? Should we blame this new law on Bush? No we really cannot since he is out of office. Maybe we should adapt the liberal idea of CULTURAL RELATIVISM in relation to the Muslim treatment of woman! You know the idea that right is not right and is only due to our stupid American ethno-centricism! “Bad, Bad Bad American”!

As I said I am a liberal Euro style Social Democrat. So don’t try to rationalize your cognitive dissonance between liberal ideals on the one hand and the masochistic blame America philosophy of the politically correct for everything on the other. Sometimes the Republicans do have it right. There are people out there in this world who do not care what type of “karma” they generate. North Korea and Iran’s leaders are among them!

We are fighting EVIL in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Not to mention Iran and North Korea! China and Russia are not that cool either. We could see one of our cities go up into a mushroom cloud because we did not take Decisive action! Oh dear but that would be like “having dominion” and we liberals would love so much better to live and wallow in guilt being “reactors” rather than proactive in world affairs!

Yes there is an axis of evil! No I do not believe in Satan but I do believe in fighting what is evil! I am proud that our nation has, as yes Donald Rumsfield said, “Shock and awe military technology”. I am not ashamed that my nation has it and I don’t want others to have it.

We need to take out Al Qaeda! I believe in the Bush Doctrine (OH MOTHER GODDESS FORGIVE ME!) but Bush misapplied his own doctrine by wasting Americas’s resources by “staying “ in Iraq. We need to:

1. Use our superior technology to wipe out Al Qaeda.
2. Allow COVERT CIA operations to take out the beloved leader in North Korea. (What you want them to have nukes and a second Korean War).
3. Stop the Cut and Run Capitalists from selling our military technology to America’s enemies!
4. Pressure Afghanistan to liberalize their laws.

The time to be decisive is now! America does not need the Republicans to be the torch holders of defending American Values! If we liberals do not then the Republicans will regain their prestige with the American people and our nation will never enjoy the fruits of a American stlye Euro economy!

I am very happy our navy rescued the “American” Ship Captain who was held hostage by the pirates from Somali. Their ship’s owners did not try to evade their lawful and moral tax contribution to America!  Now here is a question for you!

What about the CUT AND RUN CAPITALISTS who tear down the flag of America from their ships to to hoist the flag of Liberia or Panama to avoid paying taxes to the nation that protected them and gave them birth, succor and yes profit! Now these CUT AND RUN CAPITALISTS want us to protect their interest when their ships are attacked by pirates?

I hear our President talking about an increased American Naval presence in the seas off Somali!

I say absolutely not! Since these CUT AND RUN CAPITALISTS wanted to rip down the flag of freedom and hoist the flag of “Profits before Country”, then let them rely on the great naval forces of Panama and Liberia to protect their interests while on the high seas! Yes why not have a TEA PARTY and invite the vast naval armada of Liberia and Panama to their TEA PARTY to defend these CUT AND RUN CAPITALISTS!

These CUT AND RUN CAPITALISTS are of the same breed that would sell America’s military technology to our enemies for their profit. These are the same people who placed “PORTFOLIO SECURITY” over “PORT SECURITY” and when their champion George (never finished his National Guard commitment) Bush tried to push the Dubai Port deal over on America! They and their fellow travelers in the Republican Party with their porky friend, Haliburton which has moved it’s Corporate Head Quarters to Dubai! Yes these are the same people who wave the flag of America then pull it down when it profits them!

Where is their loyalty to America? Oh the conservatives whine and wale about “this age of licentious permissiveness”! Oh they whine about supporting our troops and defending our flag! They should live what they preach! These profiteers should take down the flag of Liberia and Panama from their American built and corporate owned ships and display the flag of the nation that gave them birth, protection and profits! The SILENT MAJORITY – our great Middle Class, is tired of hearing the bleeding hearts who support these parasites while loyal Americans do their duty!

CUT AND RUN CAPITALIST THE TIME HAS COME TO  SUPPORT AMERICA AND OUR FLAG!
