I am a proud liberal and a “Social Democrat”. I have no problem with the phrase “European Socialism”. Well the only problem I have with it is that we don’t have enough of it here in the United States. With that said let me state that I am glad that the Supreme Court has ruled against Judge Sotomoyer and has ended the reverse discrimination against the White and Latino fire fighters.
One of those fire fighters is dyslectic and he even hired someone to read to him so he could score high on the test. I have no problem with fining and jailing those who practice racial discrimination. But I do not believe the answer is to discriminate against innocent Whites. Yes I am a liberal! The time has come for my fellow liberals to act from positive compassion not from a masochistic “GUILT TRIP”!
Thank God the Supreme Court has ruled this way else the Republicans would have one more weapon to add to their arsenal of fear! It is bad enough that the Republicans are smearing President Obama by saying he is not tough enough on Iran! These are the same people who said that our differences end at the shore line and that we should “support our President and stand as one people in the area of foreign affairs”. I guess that only applies when we have a Republican as President.
None the less we liberals must learn not to play “masochist”. By practicing “reverse discrimination” we would not only undermine our party’s future but the first African – American President’s re-election prospects! Over the last few years I have noticed more and more of my fellow liberal Democrats not falling for the old Republican tricks.
Our nation needs to follow a new agenda:

Repeal of the Bush and hopefully even Reagan Tax Cuts that favored the wealthy.

Universal Health Care.

Fighing the influence of K-Street in our Government.

The “Greening of America” with less emphasis on fossil fuels and less dependance on oil.

Forcing the CORPORATE COLLECTIVES (corporations) to humanize in this 21st Century.

Extend annual vacations, as in Germany, to 11 weeks per year!

Ending the nonsense that someone is entitled to earn millions per year while the middle class must scrape for an existence!
To achieve these ends we must not fall into the masochistic traps that liberals have been baited into before by Republicans. The stakes are just to high!
Well today we heard that Republican South Carolina Governor Sanford apparently had his own “stimulus package” to deliver to Argentina! Ah yes the party of “family values”, the party that says “No” to Gay marriage because marriage is a sacred institution. Damn dem Gays are breaking up to many marriages right Gov. Sanford?
Well now you Republicans say what about John Edwards? Well that is up to John Edwards wife but politically that he is not in the same ball park as Governor Sanford because John Edwards did not point the finger at other people and preach this self righteous krap from the religious right!
Remember the self righteous pomposity of the Republicans when our President wanted to have just a small amount of money in the budget for the distribution of Trojans to high school kids? Oh they whined and wailed. Then when the final cost of the package came out the Republicans complained that our kids would be paying the price for the stimulus package! Well maybe we should put Trojans back into the budget because our nation doesn’t need any more unwed mothers on welfare and fatherless teenage boys running around in criminal gangs. Yet this is the price that our society is going to pay for the Republicans following the Christian Right!
Hell if the Republican Governor cannot keep his zipper shut how can you expect a teenage boy?
I was on lunch break and saw Gov. Sanford’s speech. He went on an on before finally getting to the point. Folks is it only me? But since this guy was the Chairman of the Republican Governors caucus you would think he would have his apologies “after” he first told us the main event of the speech. That is to say he cheated on his wife! The reason?
Well for God’s sake this guy went on and on and I wanted to get back to work! But never mind me! Being the good family value oriented Republican Gov. Sanford is did he not have any consideration for CORPORATE AMERICA! That’s right! What about all the advertising revenue that was being lost due to his speech? If he said what he had to say upfront then the media could break away for their ads. Hell a good Republican would have consideration for CORPORATE AMERCIA!
Well what is really funny is that he mentioned that he meet his girl friend at a Bible Study! Well instead of outlawing Gay Marriage maybe we should out law Bible Study Classes as a means to preserve marriage!
No doubt at Bible Study they were discussing those awful pinko liberal Democratic Party Gay Marriage advocates! Oh yes the Republican Party – The FAMILY VALUES supporters!
I remember the Republicans used to say that foreign policy differences ended at our shore line! I guess that does not apply when they want to criticize President Obama and his handling of the Iranian Crises! Yet the Republicans and their fellow travelers in Halliburton had no problem doing business with the terrorist nation of Iran’s Mullahs! (See Video below)
These CUT AND RUN CAPITALISTS who want to be the pals of terrorists not only Iran but China also. Isn’t it amazing how the Republicans criticize our President in these difficult times yet I did not see them attempting to place a hold on American companies doing a “CUT AND RUN” to China after Tiananmen Square to make a buck! What is even worse is that brave students are using the internet as a means of communication in both the current Iranian and Tiananmen Square revolt. Yet American Corporations in their pursuit of profit before people have even assisted the Chinese Government in policing their internet and capturing dissidents! (See video below).
We live in an era of licentious permissiveness where “Individual Freedom” is subjugated to needs of the CORPORATE COLLECTIVISTS of Google, Yahoo, Microsoft and others. Did they care about the freedom loving students of China? Yet these same pompous asses preach “individual freedom” and the danger of big government! What about the effects of the CORPORATE COLLECTIVISTS with their usage of K Street on the American body politic?
The Republicans say President Obama is timid and weak in dealing with Iran and they mock him for his past desire to talk to the Iranian leadership about their nuclear program. Yet they have no problem talking to China and shipping American jobs, technology and wealth to China as long as they profit from such transactions. We in the Middle Class have seen these CUT AND RUN CAPITALISTS conduct a massive wealth redistribution program from the middle class to their own pockets while our national security suffers from such transactions!
President Obama realizes that both candidates in the recent Iranian Presidential elections were similar. However the followers of Mir Hossein Mousavi are evolving. First they opposed Ahmadinejad but now they are moving against their Supreme Leader and this could place them in opposition to the entire concept of the “Islamic Republic”! The crucial factor is not only their leader, Mir Hossein Mousavi, but the educated classes of the cities! By being placed in this evolving situation they are becoming outcasts of the Islamic Republic and ripe for conversion to real change! Hopefully as I mentioned in my prior post, to restoring some sort of Constitutional Pahlavi Monarchy!
Understand this crucial factor:
Change of that nature comes when anchors are cut. That is the reason for Obama’s reaction. Not simply that the Fundamentalists will crack down if we speak up. That is not the issue. The issue is the attitudes of the Iranian middle class in the cities. If the masses feel America is threatening them then the fundamentalists will succeed in their propaganda. Remember the VIETNAM WAR when blue collar workers where recruited by Republicans to fight the college students? The fundamentalists in Iran are attempting a “Richard Nixon” on the Iranian Silent Majority! They are claiming to be the advocates of “law and order” and defending the nation. Richard Nixon made the middle believe communists where behind the peace movement. The Islamic Fundamentalists are saying it is “the great Satan America”.
Yes the time is coming when Obama can come out of the closet and attack the fundamentalists.
But in social psychology when you wage psychological operations you change attitudes when the individual comes to the conclusion on his own. The young of Iran are now coming to that conclusion and most importantly “owning that conclusion”! As that occurs then we must overtly support them. Till then we must twitter away the time while using covert operations!
Let us just hope that American Multinational Corporations don’t sell their internet expertise to the current Iranian government! The time has come for all Americans to rally around our President!
Yes I am a Social Democrat and voted for Jimmy Carter. I believed the Shah had to go at the time. Now I feel the opposite. Partially because I believe both Liberals and Persian Monarchists have both matured.
While our direct support could hurt the forces of “Change” in Iran, I do believe in the Audacity of Change and that the vehicle for such change is the restoration of the Pahlavi Monarchy in a Western Constitutional framework! While the Shah has passed on, his son the Crown Prince, is alive and capable of becoming the new Shah. (See the video of him below) History has given the Crown Prince the opportunity to serve his nation by becoming a Constitutional Monarch whose future, like the restored Spanish Monarchy is to serve his nation as a respected “Referee” and Constitutional Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces.
Above the Crown Prince addresses an audience at an American University. Despite the fact that his father had some flaws, under the Shah, Iran advanced in Western Liberal values. I believe his son has learned from the mistakes of the past. I believe we western Liberals have also learned and matured.
Under the Shah there was religious tolerance. The older religion of Iran “Zoroastrianism” has suffered under the mullahs. This heritage of Persia must not be snuffed out by extremists!
If we who label ourselves as “Liberals” decry religious fundamentalism and the Christian Right then we should also decry Islamic Fundamentalism. Just as we should denounce “atheistic fundamentalism” of communist states. All of the above have their rational tolerant advocates. The two films above show the pride that many Iranian “Persians” take in the monarchy and their history.
When a monarchy acts like the British and now Spanish Monarchies they insure the survival of Western values and freedom by placing their future not as “rulers” but as respected “referees” who enable “Parliamentary Democracies” to flourish without fear of a military takeover or one party rule. The forces who are fighting Ahmadinejad are slowly realizing that the so called “Islamic Republic” is as dangerous as we view a Christian theocracy. By the way I am an Episcopalian not an atheist.
While a Constitutional Monarchy is not for us in America, I strongly support the restoration of the Pahlavi Monarchy in Iran in a Constitutional framework!
The reason that President Obama is facing the end of his Presidential honeymoon is because Democrats have not been aggressive in fighting the Class Warfare being waged against the Middle Class by the efite snobs of privilege. George Bush and his fellow travelers have waged a Social Engineering Experiment against the American Middle Class. They are the cause for the budget deficit.
Democrats are falling for the Republican trap. We Democrats are now taking the blame for the budget deficits and the impending inflation. Make no mistake about it the economy had to be massively stimulated due to the policies of George Bush. Making such a stimulation usually involves an inflation afterward but that is the price for the recovery.
Democrats could not say this up front! For PATRIOTIC reasons Democrats could not level with the American people that we risk a temporary “swing back” Inflation due to the necessity of saving the economy from depression!
Why couldn’t Obama say that?
Well to do so would then jeopardize the very recovery from an impending DEPRESSION that George Bush gave us! Republicans are being UNPATRIOTIC by not supporting our President in this. True even I had some doubts about the “mixture” of the money utilized in the Stimulus Package. But they did not limit their attack to the “mixture” but the very concept of the program itself!
Democrats are failing to point out that when President Bill Clinton left office we actually had a BUDGET SURPLUS! – Wow what a concept. I can understand President Obama desiring to appeal “Presidential” and be a sort of Liberal version of Ronald Reagan. But he needs to do more to be the Liberal version of “The Great Communicator”! Also he should allow Vice President Biden to go out on the road and show that Liberal Democrats can be more of a Pit Bull than a hockey mom! Remember Spiro Agnew? We need Obama to let Vice President Biden play “bad cop” while Obama plays “good cop”. Americans love ass kickers! As we have seen with Sarah Palin it can even be a substitute for substance!
Understand this my fellow Middle Class Americans! We will NEVER have substantial change while we allow the issue to remain “should Government allow Execs of failed companies to take large bonuses!

So what even if a company makes a good profit and is doing well, WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE TO MAKE MILLIONS PER YEAR IN SALARIES WHILE THE PRODUCERS IN THIS NATION – OUR GREAT MIDDLE CLASS HAVE TO STRUGGLE TO SURVIVE!
Oh the bleeding hearts for the supper rich! The President of The United States be he Republican or Democrat makes only $400K per year. Yet he has the responsibility of the world on his shoulders!
If you are Middle Class and have SELF RESPECT then you must demand that no one earn more than three or four times your salary! What are these parasites contributing to our society? If they found a cure for cancer or HIV I would gladly pay them millions in bonuses! Heck I would even make an exception and allow them to pass on their wealth to their next two generations tax free!
But we Democrats do not have the guts to confront this issue head on! Oh dear we might be called “Socialists”. Well I look at Western Europe and I still see millionaires and even billionaires. No one wants to stop “incentives”. I am not against people “saving” to become millionaires. Well except for being a parasite on the “producers” in this society. I just question what is the contribution to society of one who is paid more than our President and is paid millions in just one year!
Isn’t it amazing in the last election that these effete snobs of privilege would label Barrack Obama as an “elitist” yet now they label themselves as the “Producers” in our society!
The time has come for the great SILENT MAJORITY – America’s great MIDDLE CLASS, to take back this nation from these effete snobs of privilege! After all it is we who are the “PRODUCERS”!
