I have God damned had it with these effete snobs of the Republican Party and their fellow travelers the “blue dog Democrats”. We are the richest nation in the world yet we lack Universal Health Care! Who cares where the funding is going to come from! That’s right did George “No Show National Guardsmen” Bush worry about funding of the Iraqi War? Did Bush and the Republicans care about funding of their Social Engineering Experiment in Iraq after they had cut taxes to the rich who make more money per year then the President of the United States?
If every civilized nation in Western Europe can afford Universal Health Care then we can too! Barrack Obama better get some spine and FAST! I would love to believe this is all part of his master strategy to show the Republicans as the party of “No”. I realize Obama wants the Congress to craft it’s own laws. But the fact is Republicans are waging psychological warfare and they could win. Americans love “ACTION FIGURES”. As I have said in prior posts we backed George Bush even when he went into Iraq because we were attacked and we wanted to kick some ass! How many times did you see, even on the liberal MSNBC, the constant reruns of the invasion of Iraq with embedded journalists! Americans loved it. We love “action figures” and give them creditability! Their slogans get adsorbed into the general population. (See the video below)
But then Bush lost his image as an “action figure” with Katrina and even in Iraq as he got in over his head. He realized Iraq was not WWII and the American people would not stand for larger commitments of troops. Even with the surge we never had enough troops to win. Now he was no longer the “Action Figure”. Then the economy went down from the effects of his policies. Americans wanted ACTION! Again we love ACTION HEROES! But now the Republicans advocated their old tired strategy of “laissez-faire economics”. This sit back approach would not sell with the American people. Barrack Obama promised “action”. The Democrats won the election.
Now the Democrats risk ending up like Bush. Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid ever being the role models of “Learned Helplessness” after having control of the Congress for the last two years of Bush’s administration and doing nothing to stop the Iraq War, now they cannot get up the guts to attack the Republicans full scale or get the Democratic Party together on Health Care! Where is our President in all this? I voted for him to kick some Republican ass! To hell with Bi-partisanship! Look at how the Republicans are treating this debate! Born Again Sarah Palin is a liar about Death Panels! Why isn’t she attacked right back? If Obama wants to be Presidential then unleash Vice President Biden to be the attack dog! I would not want to wake up or trouble Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid from their pathetic state of learned helplessness!
When Palin talks about “death panels” why not attack her and her relation to the Alaskan Independence Party and show her to be the fringe politician she is! The Democrats must go on the ATTACK! Americans like action figures! When these right wing nut jobs attack our President as not being American how about raising the issue of George Bush and his vanished “undocumented” years in the National Guard!
When the Republicans go on their smear campaign and Democrats are afraid to hold Town Hall Meetings might I suggest a Testosterone role model for President Obama and all the Democratic Party members of Congress?
How about Gay Congressman Barney Frank! He stood up to these right wing nut jobs at his Town Hall Meeting. Maybe Gay Congressman Barney Frank can donate some testosterone to President Obama, Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi! He certainly has far more then all of the other three combined!
We need someone to stand up to these nut jobs in the Republican Party. I am tired of being forced to pay corporate taxes to support the agenda of insurance companies. Were does the money they pay to K-Street come from? It comes from the Middle Class in the form of reduced benefits and higher costs. We should be talking about “Taxation Without Representation” rather than the Tea Bag crowd!

Yo my fellow Democrats how about asking Gay Congressman Barney Frank for some testosterone he has got more balls then our President and all the Democrats in Congress to stand up to these special interests and their lackeys at the Town Hall meetings.
Last week we heard the Republicans and their fellow travelers claim our President insulted doctors when he mentioned that doctors might choose options based on reimbursement rather than what is best for the patient. Senator Grassley today said the very same thing as an excuse for his double talk about President Obama wanting “death panels” to pull the plug on Grandma! In the video below he now back tracks on his statement concerning “pulling the plug on Grandma” and at the 2:20 mark makes the same remark about doctors that President Obama made. (See Video below)
Yet the Democrats in their masochism continue to strive for “Bipartisanship”. To hell with bipartisanship! Senator Grassley should have educated his constituents when he held his town hall meeting. Instead he continued the Republican Party lies about Universal Health Care being a conspiracy to pull the plug on Grand Ma. Apparently someone has pulled the plug on the blood flow to Senator Grassley’s brain!
Meanwhile I am sure Senator Grassley and his fellow travellers will be very happy to know that according to MSNBC millions of Americans now face shrinking Social Security checks! But then again in we must make our nation safe from Socialist programs like Social Security and Medicare! (See Video Below)
Democrats must realize that the Republicans are attempting to destroy Universal Health Care. Their fellow travellers, so called “Blue Dog Democrats” are growing fearful of loosing their insurance special interest contributions! When will Progressives stand up and fight back?
We need to kick some Republican butt and give these Blue Dog Democrats some testosterone to stand up for the Middle Class!
Remember the Republicans and their “Tea Parties”? Well what about taxation without representation? The 21st Century Corporate Collectivists are undermining the “Individual Freedom” that they so loudly proclaim to protect. What am I talking about? Well watch the video below from the Rachel Maddow Show! These corporations are using corporation funds to advance their political agenda. Then they complain that unions have voluntary “COPE” funds. Well let these millionaires dip into their own deep pockets to finance their agenda! Why should Middle Class Americans have our wallets raided by these effete snobs of privilege to finance their political agendas! Where does that money from the corporations come from? It comes from reduced benefits to subscribers and higher costs. This is tyranny!
It is bad enough that Corporate CEO’s Make millions per year. No I did not say that I was against people being millionaires I said they are making millions per year! Guess we are the only ones who have to save and scrim. What contribution did these insurance executives make to our society other than how to pull the plug on Grandma? They get paid more than the President of the United States who has more responsibly than anyone on this planet!
But the Republicans you meet on the street are like little toy robots.
Oh my social betters know what is best for me! I want to have higher insurance rates and gas prices so my social betters can use that money to advance “THEIR AGENDA”.
My friends no one is against people becoming millionaires! I am talking about people who make millions per year! Heck I hope to be a millionaire too. These are the same people who scream that Obama is going to make our grand children pay for his stimulus and Health Care Program.
No they are not afraid for “our children” they fear that the “inheritance tax” will be raised and their kids will only be able to inherit a mere million instead of several.
The reason why Obama is hitting a wall now in the polls is because Democrats have got to get the balls to fight the Republicans on the real battle ground. We must face certain core issues. Reality is not absolute in certain areas and we live with two opposites. Carl Jung called this “The Shadow” and it is real and needs to be addressed. What am I talking about?
It is perfectly natural and healthy to RESENT when someone makes ten times your salary. It is even more natural to RESENT when someone makes millions per year and you make under $250,000. We do however, with just cause, lay these resentments aside when the person makes a valid contribution to our society! But there comes a time when we have to say enough is enough! We must not only stop Corporations from dipping their hands into our pockets to pay for their agendas but level the amount that a Corporate Executive can pull from his “deep pocket” to advance his agenda in a Democracy while the Middle Class does not have access to such depth of resources! Again what is worse is that these corporate execs don’t want to finance their agendas by their pockets but by dipping their hands into our pockets. Saying no to this is called “Socialism”.
When are Democrats finally going to raise these REAL ISSUES!
For God’s sake it’s not like we are taking away something that these CEO’s ACTUALLY EARNED! Oh dear me did you hear what I just said! No we are not going to level salaries but just add “Reality” in the form of progressive taxes and a prohibition on the use of corporate funds for politics!
We Progressives must take off the gloves else we will be viewed as wimps! As I said in a prior post, Americans love ACTION FIGURES! By going on the offensive we can exhaust the Republicans and their fellow travellers! The time has come to set employees free from the CORPORATE COLLECTIVE. Universal Health Care adds to that sense of “Individual Freedom” that Conservatives so talk about but only reserve for the elite!
No Taxation Without Representation! Stop the Corporations from destroying Individual Freedom!
The time has come for President Obama to take the gloves off and start attacking the Republicans and their class interests that are opposed to Universal Health Care. Americans like “action figures” and Obama is loosing his image as one. When the issue facing our nation was terrorism the American people supported and re-elected George Bush. Americans loved, and rightly so, that we removed the Taliban from Afghanistan. When George Bush diverted us into a side war in Iraq Americans took the bait. Because we love “ACTION FIGURES”. Bush lost his status when the real area for our action, Afghanistan started to go under as did his Social Engineering Project in Iraq.
Barrack Obama won the election because the issue was changed to the “economy”! The Republicans advocated “Laissez-faire” Capitalism which forbid massive action. The Democrats advocated a massive stimulus and TAKING ACTION! Thus we won the election. President Obama is now trying to be Bi-partisan with Republicans who will never join with him. They want him to fail. (See the short video below).
President Obama must realize that these are Republicans who want to continue the process of “Income Redistribution” away from the Middle Class to the Upper Class. We have seen this in their support of Globalization and having American employees compete with foreign workers who are paid little more then slaves. Then we are told that we are not being “productive”. If Americans have access to Universal Health Care we will be less dependant on the Corporate Collectives from which we must secure our economic existence!Republicans will do anything to prevent Individual freedom they prefer we subvert our lives to the “Corporate Collectivists”.
The reason we are losing is because many Democrats are not facing the underlying issues:
- While we want to have incentives for people to be creative and innovative there comes a point when we must state that those earning millions per year really do NOT really deserve the compensation they are receiving. We must push for a more aggressive “progressive income tax” and “inheritance tax”. No one is against people being millionaires. The issue is balance! You see there comes a point when we have to say enough of the myths and fairy tales we grew up with. Not to mention that many did not even work for the millions they have but inherited it.
- Democrats need to stand up for the Middle Class and state that it is we who are the “producers” in this nation. I love the way Republicans use the term “producers” for the rich. Why didn’t they say that in the last election? Instead they accused Barrack Obama of being an elitist!
- While the Republicans have their stupid “Tea Parties” we Democrats should be screaming about “Taxation without representation”. We are being taxed by the insurance companies to support their “Corporate Interests”. Bad enough their executives are paid far more than the President of the United States at my medical cares’ expense. But these rich bozos don’t want to stick their hands in their own pockets to support their political agenda, instead they want to stick their hands in my pocket and make us pay for their K-Street lobbying efforts. That is “taxation without representation”!
- Democrats must cease to use the term “workers” but instead use the more inclusive term “employees”. White collar college graduates are as much a victim of the Corporate Collectives as Blue Collar. Just look at what has happened to those in the computer programming profession.
If Barrack Obama wants to continue playing “Presidential” and seek bi-partisanship then he should at least unleash Vice President Biden to play the attack dog as in the video above. We need to pass Universal Health Care now while we still have solid majorities in both houses of Congress. We do not have four years but under two years. The time has come to launch attack ads at the Corporate rich and their stealing of our nation’s political decision making via K-Street. President Obama it is time to become an “ACTION FIGURE” again else the Republicans will label you a wimp as they have done to liberals in the past!
To hell with bi-partisanship! You cannot reason with people who advocate lies and smearing! Time to stand up for the Middle Class against these effete snobs of privilege!
While the Republican scare tactics on Health Care are somewhat working on the Middle Class poll numbers, I believe Progressive Democrats need to be more forceful and to fight the battle on a new battle field. The video below by www.moveon.org illustrates how to deal with the conservative lies.
Some Conservatives are quoting with glee that recent polls show Americans are unhappy with how President Obama is handling health care. Not so fast as many of us liberals and Social Democrats are also unhappy with the weak way President Obama is fighting this battle. Just because his poll numbers have slipped does not prove automatically that Americans are against Universal Health Care! Many may have given Obama a bad rating because he is not being tough enough! Below are my Top Eleven Talking Points For Universal Health Care. We need to raise these KEY ISSUES:
1. Do not make this simply an issue of insuring the uninsured. Doing so will make this a “Classic Battle” where Republicans always win. Americans may have sympathy for the poor but not at the expense of raising their taxes. We must relate this to the Middle Class. I would use the following Talking Point: The Middle Class ends of paying for the uninsured anyway! Hospital costs go up to pay for those who use the emergency room in lieu of their primary care physician.
2. Individual Freedom: Oh we hear these right wingers talk that our “individual freedom” is being eroded! – Bull! We are at the mercy of the CORPORATE COLLECTIVE that we work for. If you loose your job good bye health care! Even if you do not loose your job our existence is to serve the CORPORATE COLLECTIVE not our individual freedom! Corporations can charge you more for their plan, switch your plan or cancel it even if you are working! Oh don’t worry that is so the top 2% can have the “FREEDOM” to make profits at the Middle Class expense!
3. The Government Bureaucrats will stand between us and our doctor: What about the bureaucrats in the Corporations? How many times do they stand between us and our doctors in the form of Insurance Companies and even pharmaceutical companies!
4. Pre-existing conditions: What if you want to exercise your “Individual Freedom” to move to a new company and your prior conditions are now not covered? Is this the “FREEDOM” that the Conservatives talk about! They have the “Freedom” to move their investments and our jobs off our shores so they can avoid paying insurance costs to employees! They have the “Freedom” to make a profit without work while we have the “Freedom” to work without Health Care! Yes this is Freedom! We are to submit our individual freedom to the CORPORATE COLLECTIVE!
5. Universal Health Care is a RIGHT not a privilege: Democrats are fighting the battle on a battle field decided by the Republicans! This goes to a more fundamental issue! What are these Corporate Elites doing for this society that justifies them making more than the President Of the United States? How many days into the new year does an employee have to work before he or she earns what the top executives earn on the first day of the year? No I am not saying everyone should be payed the same or that it is wrong to be a millionaire or even billionaire! But the time has come when we need to confront the issue that while we allow this unequal compensation to occur no one really is justified in making more than the President of the United States who has the weight of the world on his shoulders. We live in the richest nation on earth and we the Middle Class made it that way. Universal Health Care is a RIGHT not a privilege! We earned it!
6. Democrats need to stop talking about “Workers” and start talking about “Employees”: This is not simply a blue collar vs white collar issue. Most college graduates are not making over 250,000 per year. Democrats need to understand this is not simply a blue collar union issue. My Dad was an accountant and yet he too was victimized by the Corporate Collectivists! He lived in fear of loosing his job and health care!
7. The Middle Class is forced to pay for the Corporation’s Political Lobbying: It is bad enough that someone who makes ten million per year can out contribute my political contributions but that is not enough for these effete snobs of privilege! The groups that are financing the so called grass roots revolts at the Town Hall Meetings and the lobbyists who infect our political system with campaign contributions our being financed by dipping their rich hands into my wallet and yours! What is that you say? How can that be? Well they are being funded by corporations! Just where does the money come from? It comes by charging us higher insurance premiums and lowering their payments to doctors and hospitals! Oh yes this is the “Individual Freedom” that they so cherish. Our duty is to subvert our Individual aims to the agenda of the Corporate Collectivists! Yes this is their idea of FREEDOM!
8. Universal Health Care Increases Individual Freedom From the Corporate Collective: We live in a new era where “collectivism” is not in the form of a “Soviet” style collective but “Corporate Collective”. Here Individual Freedom is sacrificed to better serve the needs of the corporation. From globalization to age discrimination the American Middle Class finds it’s employment income subverted to the investment income of the corporate class! From White Collar to Blue Collar Employee the American Middle Class finds it’s leisure time subverted in order to work more in the service of “productivity” to increase the leisure time and investments of the corporate elite! Middle Class employees also own stocks but if your job goes so do your investments!
9. Government Regulation Prevents Corporate DEATH PANELS from deciding who should get care and who should not! What is to stop some Corporate Bureaucrat from pulling the plug on Grand Ma because they believe she has lived long enough anyway? Sarah Pallin is an idiot. The issue is not Obama’s Death Panels but insurance companies deciding who gets saved!
10. Americans are going to Third World Nations because they cannot afford American Health Care: Can you believe Americans are actually travelling to Thailand to get operations because they cannot afford them here! Americans are going to Canada to get prescription drugs! Yes this is the “FREEDOM” that Republicans want to inflict on the American Middle Class.
11. Conservatives do not worry about “our children” paying for any deficit: This is one of their biggest lies. No what they fear is that the inheritance taxes will be raised and their kids will not be able to inherit ten million but only a mere five million! Life is so cruel!
12.Even the Affluent Upper Middle Class Need Universal Health Care: Even white collar professionals need Universal Health Care because one catastrophic illness could wipe out one’s savings. In fact hospitals will charge more to professionals believing they can pay more. What good is it if your insurance pays 80% of what they say the cost should be of your health care when your bill is ten times the charge the insurance company says it should be. If the Insurance company says they will pay 80% of x but your bill is 10X you can say good bye to your lifestyle and your home!
The time has come for America’s great Silent Majority, our great Middle Class, to stand up and take our nation back from these effete snobs of privilege!
The self righteous Sarah Palin and her fellow travelers in the Republican Party are at it again! Maybe Sarah Palin should learn to practice the teachings of Christianity that she claims to champion!
I believe now that it is time for Obama to start to take control of this Health Care issue else the Republicans will get away with their lies and distortions. The reason he has not intervened openly is that he does not want to repeat the mistake that the Clintons made years ago. They tried to ram their plan down the Congress. But unless President Obama starts to take forceful action members of Congress could get cold feet along with the AMA and other groups that once opposed Universal Health Care but now support it.
Frankly I don’t give a krap about being bipartisan. We won the election and we need to act fast! We cannot have Universal Health Care without a public option. I would prefer to:
Simply uniformly tax corporations and the top 2% of Americans.
Regulate the Insurance Companies.
Issue to ALL Americans a voucher that they can take to their private Insurance Company or to a Government run plan.
Conservatives don’t seem to have a problem with “vouchers” when it is to support parochial schools!
The time has come for Progressives and Liberals to stand up to the wacky lies of Sarah Palin and her fellow travellers in the Republican Party! We won the election. We don’t have four years but two years! Let’s act now and fast!
