Big deal we got 60 votes to “talk” about Health Care Reform. When you listen to Republican Senator Judd Gregg you can hear the Republican strategy being exposed which the Democrats are not countering! Oh dear we don’t want to be “partisan” now do we? Well I do! If you listen closely you can hear all the sub-issues that Republicans want to use to start in fighting among not just Democrats but Middle Class Americans!

After hearing all the right wing whining that America is to weak to place the 9-11 terrorists on trial in New York City I have to wonder is it perhaps that they fear Dick Cheney might be called as a witness and if he were not to comply it could jeopardize the conviction of these terrorists? Dick Cheney seems to do a dance when he talks about national security issues. (See video below).
I have the habit of viewing things from a psychological perspective! I believe Cheney’s attacking of President Obama has the “function” or perhaps the “deliberate purpose” preventing his being called to Congressional hearings. If he were prosecuted then his followers could hold up their hands at the Democrats saying he was being persecuted for attacking Obama.
If the 9-11 terrorists are tried in an American civilian court they could present their prior treatment in Gitmo as a violation of the Geneva Convention and to show high level culpability of the US Government, who better to call as a witness than Dick Cheney! Read the rest of this entry »
While our President is being criticized for bowing to the Japanese Emperor, the mistake might be on the Japanese Emperor’s side in not bowing back. Bowing is a Japanese custom and President Obama was in his country. But bowing can also be from a “commoner” to a monarch and by not bowing back the Emperor made the Obama bow mean the latter. But then again Obama did the same to the Saudi and even British monarchs! It must be remembered though that the monarch is the flag of that nation unlike a President.

This Social Democrat Liberal blogger is willing to follow the truth wherever it may lead. I ask my fellow progressives to divest themselves of knee jerk reactions. I urge this as an American first and as a Social Democrat second. I have watched several Liberal commentators lament that Nidal Hassan was sending e-mails to a known Islamic Radical Cleric yet Dr. Hassan was still retained in the military. Please read and follow both the point and counter points and my synthesis at the end.
Democrats can point out that Nidal Hassan had his e-mail monitored but no actions where taken against him. However we can thank the Republicans that we can indeed monitor e-mails! The fact that Democrats condemn the lack of acting on that monitoring is hypocritical! If we had our way there would have been no monitoring to begin with!
Sunday on “Meet The Press” Army Chief Of Staff, General Casey said we don’t want to “stigmatize” the 3,000 Muslims in the Army due to the killings at Fort Hood. He said this because the Army’s strength comes from it’s “Diversity”. I guess that does not apply to Gay soldiers who are fighting to finish their tour of duty while their former Commander in Chief, George Bush cannot seem to find anyone who remembers him doing his full term of service in the Air National Guard! When General Casey said the military prizes it’s “diversity” I guess he wasn’t talking about prizing Gay soldiers who only want to stay in the military but poor little rich boys like George Bush who want to skip their mandatory National Guard meetings! Diversity must mean “Don’t Ask – Don’t Tell” anything about George Bush and his military record!

The Progressive base of the Democratic Party stayed home since we have been “Snowed” in. President Obama, in his quest for bipartisanship, has climbed MT Olympus to find that the “Snow(e)” is slippery and has driven the Democratic base to stay home. Then again President Obama stood by while the Maine Gay Marriage Act was overturned and did not speak out in support of retaining it while the Glen Beck crowd used “fear” to make people believe their children were going to be taught homosexuality in school! Also Obama stood by all this time as Sarah Palin was being a pal to the Alaskan Secessionists while she accused him of being weak on supporting our nation’s values!
Barrack Obama is becoming a wimp in the face of Republicans and especially Tea Baggers! We liberals need to have our own Liberal version of the Tea Party Movement. We need to fight Corporate Collectivization! Our freedom as individuals is at stake! It is bad enough that fat cat corporate executives have deeper pockets to support their candidates but they want to dip their hands into my wallet and TAX me via higher premiums to support their K – Street Operations! Why am I being taxed by these Corporate Collectives to finance their social agenda against my individual self interest? This is Taxation Without Representation!
