As we all know the weak government in Lebanon has no real control over it’s own territory. Hezbollah is conducting it’s own private foreign policy by rocketing Israeli towns and kidnapping two Israeli soldiers. Worse is that Hezbollah uses the innocent civilians of Lebanon to act as human shields.
President Bush has demanded that as part of a comprehensive peace plan the so called “Sovereign” government of Lebanon take control of it’s territory from the Hezbollah militia.

Before George Bush lectures Lebanon on breaking up armed militias perhaps he should look at Iraq and even Afghanistan. In Afghanistan our nation, the most powerful on earth, has still not eliminated the Taliban! Though with the help of some of our European allies, we are doing a “better” job in Afghanistan than in Iraq.
In Afghanistan things are still bad and the prime crop of Afghanistan, which is opium, could be jeopardized by all this in fighting. So lets hope Bush gets his act together so our new “friendly” government in Afghanistan can resume needed shipments to American street corners to addict American youths.
Meanwhile in Iraq we did not even attempt to disarm the militias! So lets not lecture the one year old government of fragile Lebanon on how to do it! This is a real cesspool that we see here! Iraq is about to go into a civil war if it is not already. But lets hope the “friendly” government that we installed in Afghanistan can suppress the Taliban holdouts. After all if someone has got to profit from the poppy fields of Afghanistan, it is better at least that as American youth descend into addiction, that the money goes to this wholesome democratic regime rather than the Taliban! Such advanced military thinking may be beyond our president as he never fully attended his required meetings in the National Guard.
To bad no one remembers George Bush ever serving his commitment to the National Guard as at least Kerry had folks, both pro and con, who remembered him. Hey I served in the Army Reserve and I remember the units and guys I served with! Then again I did not grow up to be President of the United States, and silly me after clearing the Taliban out of Afghanistan I would have napalmed the Afghan poppy fields! What the hell do I know? Well I do know the units I served in and some of my buddies in the Army Reserve!
So when you hear the rhetoric about making our streets safe let’s all give a round of applause to President Bush! He drove the Taliban almost out of Afghanistan and made the poppy fields of Afghanistan safe for the friends of democracy and your local street corner pusher! MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!
