I am a Progressive and I will not make excuses for Barrack Obama! What burns me up is to hear Obama devotees give their endless litany we have financial reforms in America due to Obama! What reforms? The speculators are free to destroy our economy once again! Oh but now we have a small insurance fund in case we have to bail them out! The fund is a pittance in terms of what it cost the last time to bail them out. Some will say “didn’t the banks pay back their loans?”

The repayment was done on the backs of middle class Americans with credit cards and loan rates raising though the ceiling. College students are being shackled with loan payments but they cannot find jobs!

Obama’s solution is to call for tax cuts that would make Social Security and Medicare more vulnerable to Republican cuts down the road!

Meanwhile the rich keep their Bush era tax cuts. Obama now brags that the unemployment rate has fallen to 8.5%! Face it the first stimulus was too weak. Obama stated when he began his term that unemployment would not pass 8%! Obama was too busy trying to compromise!

If Obama would have looked around him at the suffering of the American people instead of keeping his head up Joe Liebermann’s ass perhaps he would have tried to outlaw the practice of usury. The only thing his reforms did was to require banks to make their disclosure forms more readable!

Nanny State For The Banks While Obama Plays “Make Believe Progressive” Inside The Corporate Sandbox

Barrack Obama has stood up for the middle class only if it would not hurt his patrons in Goldman Sachs! While the Republicans argue for Old Testament values and morality they condone the practice of “usury’ which the Bible prohibited! I want to make it clear that even if someone does make bad financial mistakes they should NEVER be the victims of usury!

This practice makes loan repayment impossible. Maybe the Government should have given Goldman Sachs a “payday loan” with usury rates!

Click here to view the video on YouTube.

Meanwhile President Obama and Wall Street Chuckie Schumer are just so proud of their new Financial Reform Law!

This law does not address:

The crime of usury by which Americans are turned into interest slaves to the banks!

The continuation of “too big to fail” and the reckless leveraging practices that resulted in record profits for Obama’s patrons at Goldman Sachs.

That America was protected by the Glass –Steagall Act but this law was weakened in 1999. The Glass – Steagall Act kept investment institutions separate from commercial banks.

The banking cartel: This cluster of power has not been broken up! There have been no real prosecutions but instead a cloud of secrecy under the President who promised transparency! Amazing isn’t that Barrack Obama was the largest beneficiary of the Goldman Sachs PAC in his 2008 election!

The big boys can escape their responsibly but middle class Americans have less access to bankruptcy laws because these were weakened in 2005.

Now we learn that the Federal Reserve made trillions in loans without transparency. Many loans were made to institutions outside the United States. See the video below!

I am tired of making excuses for Barrack Obama. Yes I understand that he now has to fight against a Republican House and a Senate where Republicans can filibuster!

Perhaps if Barrack Obama had stood up to the Tea Party we would not have lost the ideological battle in 2010 that resulted in our loss of the House!

That laws where not passed is not the issue! Obama is a wimp of a failure because:

He did not try!

Obama did not take this case to the people using the Presidential bully pulpit. Obama did not fight the ideological battle. This from the man who was supposed to be the greatest orator of our time!

But then again it is hard to wage the fight when Barrack Obama is playing “progressive” inside the moneyed confines of the corporate sandbox of his patrician sponsors!

Accomplishing “Change We Can Believe In”

There are two battlefields. The Congress via legislation and the people via the war of ideas! If Obama had tried and failed completely to get any legislation passed I would not call him a wimp!

The problem is that not only did he not try to push for real reforms but he did not take his case to the people in the “battle of ideas”!

With the Citizens United ruling that unleashes corporate super-pacs, we need a president who will use his oratory and the bully pulpit. Instead all we have is a wimp with the foul smell of keeping his head up Joe Liebermann’s butt!

The battle of ideas was being won by the Tea Party until the patriots of the Occupy Wall Street Movement said “ENOUGH”! If we did not have the Occupy Wall Street Movement then Barrack Obama would be even more of a wimp then he is and make even more concessions.

Just think of how much more Barrack Obama can give away if he gets elected to a second term! He will use ‘our pain” to have his goal of a grand compromise!

QUESTION:

Where is Obama in the fight for the 28th Amendment that would separate corporation and state?

ANSWER:

He is too busy raising funds from his friends on Wall Street for his re-election!

I have had it! Dump the wimp Obama.

We need Buddy Roemer for President!

We hear it all the time! Just “unleash the free market and life will be just wonderful!” Well if you believe that take a look at Indonesia! Recently I watched an episode of “Vanguard” on CurrentTV. You can view the video below. The Tobacco industry is running rampant in Indonesia and so is the cancer rate!

This is the future of America if the “hate the government – love the corporation” crowd continues to get it’s way!

When will the naive Tea Party crowd realize that when you reduce the power of the referee in the game of life you do not increase individual freedom! Instead you increase the freedom of the bully!

This is the future that the Republicans and their fellow travelers, the corporatist wing of the Democratic Party have in future for America’s middle class! Look at the video below and ask yourself what is going to happen to our democratic way of life now that corporations are people and super pacs can infest the decison making processes of our govermental structure?

These new creatures are even more deadly to the American way of life than their prior K-Street predecessors! Government regulation has damaged the tobacco addiction industry in America yet we still subsidize them but we call universal health care evil because we don’t want a “nanny state”. Well that is except for corporations! Indonesia is an example of what can happen when we reduce the power of government regulation! But then again we lack regulation still of our financial industry despite the so called financial reform law that Obama passed.

Just look at Indonesia and see what can happen without regulation! The video is long but I give some summary points near the end of this article if you only want to take a quick look.

Click here to view the video on YouTube.

Freedom Is Defined By The Interests Of The Corporate Collectivists

Make no mistake about it this is a war on our American way of life by these effete snobs of privilege. Their strategy is three fold:

Reduce the power of the referee so that the power of the bully is preeminent in the lives of Americans. That “referee” is the democratically elected government of a free people biased on the premise of “one person – one vote“. Once regulation and oversight is reduced our lives will be lived under corporate structures premised on “one dollar – one vote“!

Infect like a disease parasitic organism the governmental structures that remain and distort the decisions making processes to favor corporate interests over the interests of the silent majority! The methodologies for this infestation are K-Street lobbying, job offers to government regulators when they leave civil service and now the newly legalized super-pacs!

What governmental structures that remain will produce drama to sidetrack the electorate from the fact that our democracy and American way of life has been placed inside the moneyed confines of the corporate sandbox! Obama is now nothing more than a corporatist shrill. The worse thing Progressives can do is to get caught up defending this wimp when the Republican attack machine goes at him.

Progressives must decide what we value most!

Barrack Obama OR “Change We Can Believe In!”

There is a war being waged against the middle class and Barrack Obama is a coward! Just look at his new jobs bill. He wants to cut the very taxes that support Social Security and Medicare to fund a weak stimulus. Instead we should be repealing, not simply the Bush Tax Cuts but the Reagan and even Kennedy Tax Cuts, to raise revenue for a real stimulus that we never had under Obama! If Obama wins then he aids the Republicans in their strategy to “starve the beast“. That beast in GOP lingo is social security and medicare!

Obama should be pointing the finger at Indonesia as an example of what happens when we unleash the corporations on our landscape! No instead the wimp is being silent and even just recently signed another free trade agreement!

Those who worry about national defense should view the video in this post. What will happen when the population of Indonesia realizes they have been made fools to serve American corporations? They will blame us not the 1%!

I realize the video is long but let me highlight some points:

The tobacco industry rep even says that smoking is dangerous and that he quite.

They are using sex and the image of being “cool” to lure young Indonesians into smoking with their unregulated ads! By the way I don’t believe their ads should be regulated I believe they should be taken out of business!

The lone government “bureaucrat” who is fighting them in Indonesia is even afraid for his life! Ralph Nader said something similar years ago. This is the “freedom” that the Republicans and their fellow travelers in the corporatist wing of the Democratic Party want to inflect on America!

Is our national dialog to be bastardized by a debate between the Republicans and Barrack Obama! This President is a wimp who wants to use our pain for his gain. He wants to show that he is being attacked by the left to give him credibility with the center instead of converting the center.

We need Senator Bernie Sanders and Howard Dean for President and Vice President in 2012. Either as the Democratic Party candidates or via a third party!

I agree with the “Huffington Post” writer Lincoln Mitchell that the Occupy Wall Street movement is not a moment to soon!

Every day the patriots of the Occupy Wall Street movement are undermining the whiny self righteousness of the so called Tea Party movement. I am sick of the Tea Party and their self indulgence and grandiose sense of entitlement. Here are some examples:

Their talk of wimpy Obama being a radical communist while they bring guns to their meetings to cover for their phallic sense of inferiority.

Their perpetual talk about “watering the tree of Liberty with the blood of patriots”. Palin and Bachmann did this over and over then we had the shooting of Gabrielle Giffords.

Their idiotic belief in their right to shut the government down to fill their grandiose sense of self importance and narcissism while Obama acts ever more the wimp that he is in caving to them and their agenda of deficit reduction over job creation.

I remember Sean Hannity praising the Tea Party movement when it began and calling for them to notify Fox News anytime they would have a demonstration so that Fox News could cover them. Such impartiality! Now they criticize the Occupy Wall Street Movement because they realize that Obama is not the only show in town.

There are real live Americans who will fight for “Change We Can Believe In” rather than be like Obama and “play” progressive inside the monied confines of the corporate sandbox!

The Occupy Wall Street Movement’s Goals

The right wingers on FoxNews claim that the Occupy Wall Street movement has no specific goals and therefore is meaningless. Really?

Amazing isn’t that the “unbiased FoxNews” says such krap while ten years after our involvement in Iraq and Afganistan with the cost of thousands of our soldiers lives and limbs we STILL have no defined benchmarks of what constitutes victory? Why does Fox News suddenly want goals to be specific.

Are we there to engage in nation building? In Afghanistan are we there to increase the production of opium? Seems they are doing very well there on that front. The leadership of Afghanistan has just been accused of torturing prisoners! Their Government is corrupt. Sounds like Vietnam all over!

Yet the self righteous Fox News criticizes the Occupy Wall Street protestors for not having focused goals. Now here is an idea:

Could it be that Fox News and their fellow travelers in the Republican Party thought they had America now in their hands only to find a new kid on the block who is not a wimp like Barrack Obama and the Democrats?

The Birth Of A “Middle Class Consciousness” Is A Threat To Corporate Plutocracy

A “Middle Class Consciousness” is being born in America! This terrifies our social betters who believe they have a manifest destiny to ship our jobs and technology to China while they collect the profits of CUT AND RUN CAPITALISM!

The birth of a “Middle Class Consciousness” spells not only the death of “trickle down economics” but also the meme of “trickle down identity” which I wrote about in a prior article.(see link above)

Barrack Obama Vs. Change We Can Believe In!

The Silent Majority is growing tired of not simply the Republicans but this whole corporate plutocracy! Barrack Obama is playing liberal inside the monied confines of the corporate sandbox! When Obama said it was time to “turn the page” and not investigate and prosecute the Wall Street big shots nor the Bush era administration for the Wall Street crash nor the Iraq War I realized maybe it is time to turn the page on Barrack Obama.

The Occupy Wall Street Movement is a reclamation of the spirit of “Yes We Can”! These PATRIOTS who occupy Wall Street are the real embodiment of “Change We Can Believe In” while the Republicans and Barrack Obama are nothing more than corporate shrills who do not deserve our vote!

The Tea Party does not have an exclusive on rage! Perhaps this signals the death of the Democratic Party and the birth of a Euro style “Social Democratic Party” in America! – I hope so!

Recently Eric Cantor whined that the #Occupy Wall Street Movement is attempting to sow hate and set Americans against each other! Yes this from the party that thrives on hate and dividing Americans against each other. At the same time Herman Cain attacked the unemployed saying it is their fault. The issue is not simply the unemployed but the threat of unemployment to the Silent Majority of America by these effete snobs of privilege!

Click here to view the video on YouTube.

Herman Cain And The John Galt Hissy Fit Society

Ann Rand extolled a fictional character named “John Galt” who leads a strike by the CEO’s against the so called wicked ravages of the New Deal! President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, a super rich American, was a strong defender of the middle class. FDR quoted an old English judge:

“Necessitous men are not free men”!

It is the aim of the Republican Party and their fellow travelers in the corporate wing of the Democratic Party to create a nation of necessitous citizens! In Republican “new speak” a nation of necessitous citizens is called a “business friendly environment”!

The issue is not just the unemployed but the fear of the employed that they too will loose their jobs!

This could happen if the John Galt’s of this nation are allowed to engage in their self righteous grandiose sense of entitlement! Just one example: when 400 individuals have more wealth than the collected wealth of 150 million Americans combined! Give me a break!

Yet these effete snobs of privilege have the audacity to whine about “entitlements”!

Listen to the self righteousness of Herman Cain in the video below!

Click here to view the video on YouTube.

Republicans specialize in hate and turning Americans against each other. When our nation was ravaged with the costs of both the Iraqi and Afghanistan Wars, George Bush who never finished his term in the National Guard, tried to change the issue to “Gay Marriage”!

Just recently Republicans tried to set non-union vs. union workers at each others throats by employing envy at union workers’ medical benefits. The aim is to constantly knock down the tallest trees then work on the next layer while our social betters reap the dividends!

We Need A “Middle Class Consciousness”

A few months back Rand Paul said the solution might be to lower the minimum wage! For Christ’s sake then these same effete snobs of privilege try to set Americans against those who use our hospital emergency rooms in order to see a doctor! If the JOB CREATORS paid them correctly then they would not have to do this! Now they want to pay people even less?

I have cited a study of millionaires in prior posts by the Fidelity Investment Corporation that said almost half of millionaires do not feel rich and that they will out live their financial resources unless they have 7 million!

By their definition to be self reliant they would need seven million.

Poor babies! Their solution is to take from the middle class and then lecture us on self reliance and the evils of the liberal “Nanny State” while they and their children live under the umbrella of “Nanny Trusts” in this nation of equal opportunity and self reliance!

Occupy Wall Street Vs. Cut And Run Capitalists

To use the conservative lingo of the Vietnam era that I grow up in but with a liberal twist:

We live in an era of licentious permissiveness where loyalty to America is placed behind loyalty to one’s portfolio and corporate profits. Just look at how not only blue collar but white collar jobs are being off shored! Frequently to our enemies! When these CUT AND RUN CAPITALISTS ship our jobs overseas to China they not only ship the security of American blue and white collar employees but also our technology to a nation that could become our active enemy!

Recently I threw out some Haines underwear. I looked at the tag and they were made in Vietnam!

You know the nation that our troops died to keep from the communists? The same right wing nuts that just recently talked about “Cut and Run Liberals” from Iraq were preaching about the “domino theory” back then!

While our dead soldiers rot in their graves in Vietnam the John Galt Hissy Fit Society walks on their graves to make a profit and to ship our jobs overseas! These CUT AND RUN CORPORATIONS have no loyalty to America and yet we are to have loyalty to them! They are now even “persons”!

QUESTION: When China becomes strong and challenges us militarily guess who will “rediscover” their American identity so they can turn a profit?

ANSWER: You guessed it! These very same CUT AND RUN CAPITALISTS and their corporate minions!

Where the hell is the rage from Obama? Instead he wants to increase so called “free trade” even more in the service of these CUT AND RUN CORPORATIONS!

#Occupy Wall Street Movement Is A Reaction To The Wimpy Reaction Of Obama

Herman Cain tried to say that the Occupy Wall Street Protests were a cover up for Obama’s failed economic policies! No the protests are a reaction to the Democratic Party playing progressive inside the monied confines of the corporate sandbox! They are a reaction to the wimpy stimulus that Obama provided and to Obama himself for not establishing “Law And Order” in our banking system.

When Herman Cain attacks the unemployed where the hell is Obama? Especially after they called him an “elitist”? Obama is not an “elitist”, Obama is a wimp!

Lessons Of History

The Occupy Wall Street movement is a return to the Vietnam Era in that if you were a liberal there was no party on your side back then. The Democrats started the Vietnam War. So we took to the streets.

Today the Democratic Party is largely a shell of it’s progressive past with a wimp like Obama running the show. True Progressives feel alienated in the Democratic Party just as we did during the Vietnam War.

But the Republicans have made a major blunder!

During the Vietnam era the college students were isolated at first and then Nixon made friends with the unions! We witnessed construction workers beating up medical students not far from where the Occupy Wall Street protests are happening today! Now in the aftermath of Wisconsin the unions know the Republicans are not their ally. The Teamsters and TWU have joined ranks with the Occupy Wall Street movement. More unions are joining daily!

Watch out Tea Party we are going to take our country back from these effete snobs of privilege. Why not join us? We do have some things in common! Stop being the fellow travelers of the effete snobs of privilege! They are coming for your jobs and social security also!

Where the hell is Barrack Obama as the Occupy Wall Street Movement is spreading all over the country? Why doesn’t he address the crowds? Yes I understand that he did make some sympathetic statements. But how about giving the Silent Majority who are behind the Occupy Wall Street movement a visit and talk to them directly just like he talked to the Medical Insurance Cartel! Why doesn’t Obama demand that these protesters be allowed to have microphones?

As I pointed out in a prior post, Corporations have the right to Super-PACs but the patriots at the Occupy Wall Street protests are not even allowed to have microphones!

Newt Gingrich sneered at Obama saying that the Occupy Wall Street protests are an indictment of the lack of leadership by Obama! I have to agree with Gingrich on this but for different reasons. Obama is a wimp.

We Progressives have a choice:

Continued support for Barrack Obama OR “Change We Can Believe In”. We need Senator Bernie Sanders or Howard Dean to run in the Democratic Primary and if Obama wins then challenge him as third party candidate.

Obama can do his “meow” but we do not have to follow.

Occupy Wall Street Protests Represent “Change We Can Believe In”

Below Senator Bernie Sanders lays it out. Why isn’t Barrack Obama doing this? Instead Obama repeats his endless castrati mantra…”Meow..Meow”! His new jobs bill will undercut the financing of Social Security and is a concession to Republicans. Yet they know they have Obama the wimp on the run! The issue is not re-election! The issue is doing the right thing and standing up for the “hope and change” that he preached for. If he looses then that is fine because he will have made inroads for future leaders! President Obama should be the “preacher in chief ” for change but all we have is a wimp!

Below Senator Bernie Sanders points out the income gap and the need to break up the banks.

Obama was the top recipient from the Goldman Sachs Pac in 2008! So much for “hope and change”! Do you really believe Obama would break up the banks or stop the practice of “usury”? All is Financial Reforms have done is to remove the fine print so that we can see that the banks are still screwing us with usury! We gave more money to AIG than to infrastructure repair.

We need a real stimulus but Obama keeps “playing” liberal inside the monied confines of the Corporate Sandbox! That is one of the reasons we are witnessing the #Occupy Wall Street phenomena in NYC and across the nation!

Obama should learn from the patriots at the Occupy Wall Street protests!

Occupy Wall Street Rage Is More Than Unions

Yes I am glad that many unions are now joining the movement but I don’t want them to run it. This latter day hippie still remembers the Vietnam War era when construction workers were beating up medical students in downtown Manhattan! Before the union leadership gets grandiose ideas of taking over this movement might I suggest that they first get their membership to stop voting Republican!

While I am a college graduate I am also a member of a blue collar union. The leadership may be Progressive but our membership has many Tea Party members! In this the aftermath of the Arab spring with Twitter and Facebook I hope our current young people take the lead of this movement.

What we are witnessing today in America is not simply the exporting of blue collar jobs to China and other nations, rather no one is talking about the white collar jobs that are being off shored. College graduates are finding that their careers are jeopardized because the 1% have this grandiose sense of entitlement!

Corporate plutocrats want Americans to fight for scarce paychecks and to compete with third world college grads overseas, while they collect the DIVIDEND check from the suffering generated by this competition. They call this “innovation”!

They have been using the same “innovation” against blue collar workers but the war on college graduates has not received the media attention it deserves. College graduates are defaulting on student loans because the jobs are not there! The American dream has been exported and the 1% collect the service fee!

We are becoming a nation unemployed and underemployed all in the service of our social betters! To serve the corporate collective is our role in life! – I say NO WAY!

Where the hell is Barrack Obama?

We need Senator Bernie Sanders for President in 2012! Thank God for the Occupy Wall Street protests!

When you first see it you might believe they are doing an “affirmation or slogan exercise”.

No this is instead an example of the “People’s Mic“! They are trying to allow those in the back to hear the speaker, because electronic equipment is not allowed! Who is protecting the FREE SPEECH of the Occupy Wall Street Protesters? Why cannot they use electronic equipment, at least for several hours per day?

Click here to view the video on YouTube.

The same “People’s Mic” practice occurs at their Boston demonstrations. No microphones are allowed. When a speaker says something it is repeated out loud so those in the back can hear.

Imagine trying to listen to a speech this way? Our social betters however have a better method to amply their corporate voices! It is called a “Super-Pac”!

Corporations Make Us Fund Their Speech

Just tell any Republican that you have a way to finance all elections without costing the taxpayer a cent! What is that method they will ask?

Answer: Why tax the corporations!

The response you will get from your Republican friends is that you are being naive since the corporations will just pass the cost on to the consumer via an increase in prices for their goods and services!

My Point:

QUESTION: Really corporations will pass on the tax cost? Well then who is paying when corporations make contributions to superpacs?

ANSWER: We the consumers are paying to advance their agenda!

This is “Taxation Without Representation”! Why would a shareholder want to pay for this as they don’t even have loyalty to the organization that earns them money without work. If the corporation becomes a burden they can just move their investment to another corporation. Many even do “day trading”.

The management of the corporation is riding this wave of wealth and forcing us to pay for their political agenda!

Corporations are NOT people. Just look at the short video below if you have any doubts and show it to your friends!

Click here to view the video on YouTube.

The Republicans and the corporatist wing of the Democratic Party seem more concerned for the rights of corporations!

Thomas Paine Would Join The Occupy Wall Street Protests

Thomas Paine, who was a leader in the American Revolution and the author of “Common Sense” warned us about the dangers of “economic royalists” and inherited wealth as an obstacle to creating a land of equal opportunity! We need a strong inheritance tax so the children of the rich can have a stake in this “land of equal opportunity” rather than live apart under the umbrella of “Nanny Trusts”!

No one is trying to stop middle class Americans from passing on their inheritance to their children. That is not the issue. But in this land of equal opportunity which is the hallmark of American Exceptionalism, we cannot tolerate millions in Nanny Trusts while jobs are shipped overseas in the service of dividend income!

An inheritance tax is not a death tax! Rather it is an “American Exceptionalism Preservation Tax”! We need equal opportunity in terms of free speech! The Occupy Wall Street protesters should be allowed to have microphones at designated hours!

When it comes to politics, Corporations should be seen and not heard!

Eleven people have died from Cantaloupe Listeria and yet the Republican philosophers of permissiveness whine for more government deregulation of the market place! Innocent people are dying from disease because we don’t spend enough money on regulatory agencies!

I am sick of these attacks on our government by the advocates of one dollar – one vote! My question in this is “where the hell is Obama?” Why isn’t he using this Cantaloupe Listeria as a “teaching moment” to the news media? Meanwhile Michelle Bachmann visits a meat packing factory and extols the virtues of deregulation! See the video below from the Young Turks.

Bleeding Hearts For Corporate Permissiveness

Click here to view the video on YouTube.

When are the American people going to stand up to end this era of licentious permissiveness?

The effete snobs of privilege naturally will say otherwise. These Republicans and their minions in the corporate wing of the Democratic Party have given us this downturn in our economy while our jobs and technology are shipped overseas by the cut and run capitalists!

They whine about loyalty to American but ship our futures to China and no one does anything! No matter how much stimulus we give to this economy it will never work if the goods purchased are not made in America!

Barrack Obama has talked about “hope” and “change we can believe in“! Is what we are seeing in America today the “change we can believe in” while the issue of the BLEEDING OF AMERICA goes unanswered?

Cantaloupe Listeria Is A Symptom Of A Cultural Disorder: Deregulation

Sure Barrack Obama is now talking tough but only for his band aid approach! We will continue to have agencies attacked as long as we do not have the separation of Corporation and State! Where are the Democrats? The listeria in our cantaloupe could be in every aspect of our food chain! Yet these bleeding hearts for corporate America lay our nation open to biological attack by not increasing regulation and inspection!

Perhaps instead of the CDC (Center For Disease Control) we should allow every crop and meat packing industry trade association the sole right to inspect our foods? Yet this is what the Republicans and their fellow travelers in the corporate wing of the Democratic Party advocate!

We need stronger regulation not simply of our foods but our banking sector! This Cantaloupe Listeria outbreak is just symptomatic of a social disorder in America: Free-market permissiveness! We need LAW AND ORDER in our economy and a President who is not a wimp to stand up to the corporate interests!

The Republicans are on a new crusade this time. No it’s not to send your kids to fight in Iraq looking for nonexistent WMD while Al Qaeda was over in Afghanistan profiting from the high production of opium crops! This time the Republicans are whining that to many Americans don’t pay income tax just because they make so little!

Recently Keith Olbermann did a report on this. In 2009 it was reported that 47% of American households earned so little that they did not have to pay federal income tax. In the video below Keith says 46%. Now with the recession it is up to 52%.

Stop Apologizing – The Job Creators Don’t Pay Enough

Frankly I am tired of us Progressives apologizing for the fact that almost half of Americans do not pay Federal Income Tax when we should be using it as an attack point!

Sure they don’t pay income tax. The JOB CREATORS pay them krap to begin with and this is after the Bush Tax Cuts!

If 47% of American house holds earn so little thanks to the “Job Creators” then why do Conservatives attack the middle class saying we are not a nation of “savers”? Don’t forget most of these people are employed, yet the Job Creators pay shit. The next few layers above these people aren’t doing that well either so naturally Americans are not savers! But it’s not that we lack discipline! The JOB CREATORS HAVE OUR MONEY!

Even though Americans cannot be savers since we earn so little, I don’t hear anyone on Wall Street complaining that their stock portfolios are being maintained by credit card driven “Aggregate Demand”!

But wait millionaires feel they are in a crunch! The Fidelity Investment Company did a survey of millionaires and almost half said they feel they will out live their saving! They actually believe they need 7 million! The solution to their insecurity is to cut our social security and medicare!

My advice to Keith Olbermann is to stop apologizing that almost half of American households don’t pay income tax!

BLAME THE “JOB CREATORS”! Good God and now they want to eliminate the minimum wage and attack collective bargaining!

The rich are trying to play their age old game of “divide and conquer”. They want the more affluent strata of the middle class to scorn the under paid.

You know the story! My God they are using our hospitals emergency rooms for free? Yes they are and wouldn’t you if you had no health insurance! Let’s give a big round of applause to the “Job Creators” because they pay so little and they don’t want to provide you with health care!

FDR said:

“Necessitous men are not free men!” The Republicans and their corporatist fellow travelers want to make this a nation of necessitous men!

Our jobs are being shipped overseas, both blue collar and white collar! If we middle class Americans would just know our place then we would not cause the John Galts of the world to have a hissy fit!

After all our role in life is to serve our social betters and the corporate collective for which they stand! One nation under organized greed! With destitution and necessitous living for all middle class Americans!

The Republicans have a name for this! They call it “Freedom”! Yes indeed to enjoy the joy and freedom to serve our social betters! That is their vision for America! I say no way!

We need Senator Bernie Sanders or Howard Dean For President In 2012

The middle class is under attack in this country and it is not just blue collar workers but white collar employees as well! A DailyKos writer has lamented that her students label themselves as “middle class” as opposed to “working class”! I believe however it is time to break free of 19th Century lexicon! Not simply because it is old fashion but more importantly it lays us open to right wing psychological warfare that wishes to make the issue: “Communism or Patriotism“! The time has come to recognize white collar workers as working people also! By not doing so Democrats are setting themselves up for failure!

This reminds me of my hippie days when we were supposed to be ashamed of being middle class! But then again we liberals seemed to suffer from a secular version of Adam and Eve. Instead of having collective guilt from being the descendants Adam and Eve we are to share collective guilt for being white and middle class! Oh my God to have “bourgeois middle class hangups“! Oh the shame ….. the shame!

Nixon and latter Reagan used this to shame liberals out of calling ourselves “liberals”. Now we call ourselves “Progressives” not liberals! Nixon seized our shame of being middle class and pounded the airwaves daily about supporting the “Silent Majority”! He was very successful at this game but that was because we liberals allowed him to steal the football!

Today we “Progressives” use the term “middle class” constantly. Hell even Al Sharpton uses it constantly! That is why I disagree with the writer from Daily Kos. But it goes further than that. Unions have to reexamine their attitudes.

White Collar Employees Are Exploited By Corporations Also

My dear old dad was one of them. Down sizing victimization is not just a blue collar thing!

Computer and other white collar professionals are seeing their jobs shipped out of this country while our social betters add more to their grandiose “sense of entitlement“. When will it ever end? Many would like to rationalize that the election results in Wisconsin are a partial victory for the Progressive agenda. I wish!

The reason why unions lost in Wisconsin are not just the standard reasons that MSNBC commentators like Ed Schultz will list. I am a Euro – Social Democrat. But I believe the reasons unions are loosing is mixed because:

The Republicans used the tactics of “divide and conquer” very well to make average Americans incur what I call “union envy“.

Americans resent when union members refer to themselves as the “working man” as if to imply that others are not working also! White collar employees can get really turned off by that attitude, not to mention woman! In a prior post I suggested that the term “working man” is to 19th Century and that we should substitute the term “employees”!

Many voters have forgotten that the union movement helped indirectly all working Americans. Ever hear of the “weekend”? But there is a dark side that many Democrats do not want to touch.

Many union members are elitist! That’s right and this from a blue collar union member! Most in my union vote Republican and are conservative! I have known many union members and in particular Civil Service Union members who vote Republican. They are so stupid they do not even realize how their jobs are financed! Non-union members, blue collar and white collar, know this and resent that union members do not cares for their plight!

There is still some lingering after effects from the Vietnam War when unions backed Nixon and blue collar unionized construction workers beat the krap of of medical students in down town New York City. The Hubert Humphrey vs George McGovern battle still lingers under the surface.

White collar employees have to be considered as working people. They are!

We have a wimp as our President! Where was he when the unions needed him! When Obama became President we were going to have an expansion of union membership with “card check”! Now with this wimp as our President we may not even have unions left. Plus we have a Congress that is the best Congress that corporate money can buy! When I say that I include most Democrats as well! There is a definition for this! In case you wondered it is called “Change We Can Believe In”!

Dirty Secret: Many Union Members Vote Republican

While I am a blue collar union worker I am a college graduate with two years of college after my B.A. I attended college during the Vietnam War. Many in the Democratic Party were and are still turned off by union members. This is especially true when many blue collar union members seem to only worry about themselves!

I wonder how many Verizon union employees and Wisconsin Civil Service union members voted Republican over the last ten years? I bet you would find that the majority did! Their non-union neighbors resent that they feel safe and no longer care. After all these Civil Service workers did not pay the price of creating these unions they just inherited them without the struggle! The same way a trust fund baby benefits from the work of an ancestor years ago!

From my prospective most union members today forgot the legacy of President Roosevelt! Many in my union even love the Tea Party! Believe me non-union members resent their lack of caring for the economic plight of the rest of society!

True years ago the unions gave the middle class birth. But I will not back away from this dirty little secret:

UNION MEMBERS FREQUENTLY ARE CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICANS!

They thought they were not vulnerable! Now they are finding out the opposite! On a personal note I still remember the ads from the early 1970′s:

“Hey Joe what’s the story?”

The narrator would ask while Joe had a college cap on and took it off throwing it with disgust and contempt to the ground.

“Joe” then picked up a union hard hat and put it on his head. He then advertised some stupid store and said it was only open to “union members and their families“! I still remember vividly the hard hats beating up medical students in down town New York City. The ad I mentioned glorified these idiot hard hats! My point is not this commercial but that it reflected the conservative Republican values of most union members.

The fact is most employees in this nation are just sick of union members thinking that what is good for them is good for all! Believe me I worked as a white collar employee and now as a blue collar union worker!

When I worked as a computer operator on Wall Street nothing enraged me more than to hear union workers refer to themselves as “the working man“!

The last time I checked my plumbing I had male organs and I also worked for a living! As a Progressive Euro Social Democrat I resent union members who only discover the left when it suits them! I resent their smugness that they are the only working men!

Let me inform many younger readers here that going to college during the Vietnam War was not the only way to avoid the draft! I personally know of several guys who were not “deferred” but “exempted” because of their construction unions!

This bald hippie still remembers those days! That is why I am fed up with Barrack Obama and those who will not advance the Progressive Agenda. Be it the Wall Street Chuckie type politician who gets his funding from corporations while playing “make believe liberal” or my fellow blue collar union members who just love Sarah Palin!

We Progressives Need To Take Stock

The fact is that many if not most union members do vote Republican! Union leaders are Democrats but may not always be Progressive! What we need today is a President who will remind union and non-union middle class employees and small business owners that 400 people in this nation have more wealth than the lower 150 million!

The time has come to mobilize Progressives for change:

We must become aggressive!

We need unions to recognize that college graduates also work for a living!

Union leaders must educate their members about “aggregate demand” and the work of President Franklin D. Roosevelt, else the Tea Party will continue to recruit them.

We need to up the rhetoric and talk class warfare because it is being waged against the middle class. Sure we need to recognize those who are rich and are progressive also. But we still need to up the rhetoric.

We need to push for a Progressive alternative to Barrack Obama so that we can have “change we can believe in”!

Meanwhile we are all going to work well past 65 because we would not want to add taxes on our social betters who rake in the millions! What is really sick is that many in my blue collar union love the Tea Party and vote against their own class interest!

Only in America!

Dylan Ratigan did a fantastic tirade against the corporate take over of America on his MSNBC show. I could not agree more. I have stated on this site that the attack upon our democracy by the corporate plutocrats is the most important issue facing our nation today. Every other issue could be solved if we could have a separation of corporation and state. Don’t for one minute think that this is just the Republicans! The spider web of corporate entanglement runs through the Democratic Party and has resulted in the following:

No public option as Harry Reid raked in some good money from insurance companies and health related corporations!

Cheaper Canadian pharmaceuticals cannot be imported into the United States. No this was not the work of only Republicans but Democrats.

The enormous loss of jobs to off shoring. Not just blue collar jobs but computer programming jobs. Now college graduates in other fields will soon see their careers destroyed all in the service of the corporate collective! Democrats are a part of this also.

No real Financial Reform as Wall Street Chuckie likes to talk the talk but not walk the walk on reining in the banks and financial institutions. We don’t have protection from usury! Also corporations can declare bankruptcy but the Silent Majority of America, our great Middle Class do not have real access to this escape mechanism.

Most Democrats may well be honest and sincere underneath but they have to win elections. Thus as I have enumerated many times they have “play progressive” inside the confines of the “corporate sandbox”. You know:

” Be good little boys and girls and play liberal but don’t do anything that would make mummy and daddy corporations mad! Just continue to be wimps like President Obama with his Goldman Sachs connection and every thing will be ok with your corporate owners. But be naughty little boys and girls and no campaign contributions. Just KNOW YOUR PLACE and everything will just be fine”!

Yes this is the America that we now live in! Sure the Republicans are wackos but the Democrats are the reason the Progressive Agenda is being lost to America. Just take a look at this report from Judical Watch.

Dylan Ratican Takes Off The Kid Gloves

Below Dylan Ratican literally tells the truth. Note how the Democrat tries to make it out like it is not Barrack Obama’s fault and Dylan really goes at her. I love it! I strongly urge you to watch this video.

We Progressives need to face the fact that Barrack Obama is a wimp!

Accept it and let’s stop protecting him. We need to recruit Howard Dean if Bernie Sanders does not want to run against Obama.

Dylan Ratigan really goes after the Democrat who tries to protect Obama and his pathetic wimpy response to saving our Democracy and the New Deal. The time has come for Democrats and Progressives in particular to make a decision and a choice that will effect our democracy!

Barrack Obama Or “Change We Can Believe In”

Yes I am fed up with John Boehner and his talk about a balanced budget! The same John Boeher who was giving out contributions on the House floor from the tobacco industry while the House was voting on giving the Tobacco industry a continuation of the subsidiary they receive to give Americans cancer.

But our nation faces an even greater cancer! That cancer is Barrack Obama and Democrats who want to destroy the New Deal while our nation is being taken over by the corporations! In the 2012 election I will place a write in vote for Bernie Sanders, even if it results in the election of Michelle Bachmann as President.

We cannot afford four more years of Obama and his testosterone deficient defense of liberal values. At least with a Republican President then Democrats would have some freedom to fight back. As I said before the filabuster can be used by Democrats also.

Well that assumes we have some testosterone. Dylan Ratigan did an excellent job with his demostration of testosterone and why isn’t his rant on the main stream news media? Why aren’t Progressives screaming “anti-liberal news media biases?”
