As a Social Democrat I would prefer to deal with the Mosque near Ground Zero after the election because I am admittedly a pragmatist and don’t want the Republicans to win. But after listening to The Ed Schultz and Keith Olbermann Shows I have come to the conclusion that there is a case for ANTI-LIBERAL NEWS MEDIA BIASES concerning Obama and the Mosque issue!
First has anyone heard Senator Harry Reid’s full comments on Obama’s flip flop on the Mosque? Senator Reid spoke about the lack of Republican support for those injured at Ground Zero? Since the Republicans seem so intense about the sacredness of “Ground Zero” you would expect them to fork up some cash to those brave first responders! Did the news media make as much of an issue concerning the Republicans not supporting a Democrat bill to provide relief to those first responders who are suffering from the after effects of the WTC pollution? The answer is no! The news media only made an issue of the Mosque, and from most news media reports, the Mosque was going to be on Ground Zero! However the truth is the exact opposite! (See the video below by Keith Olbermann). Why is the news media saying the Mosque is going to be on Ground Zero and why don’t they challenge the Republicans when they say such lies? Why is the news media spinning the truth with a right wing slant? This is not just Fox News where you would expect such nonsense but all the news channels!

Sarah Palin is trying to steal the iconography of “potency” from Barrack Obama with her metaphor of the “Mama Grizzly”. That nice folksy icon of the Alaskan Independence Party that Sarah Palin loves so much. If Sarah Palin where a liberal then Glenn Beck would bring out the connection between the image of the “Mama Grizzly (see image on right) with the logo of the Alaskan Independence Party. Remember his conspiracy talk about images on buildings a few months back!
But the real problem is that Barrack Obama would prefer to attack his own base than fight the Republicans. If he had some “potency” he would be lambasting Sarah Palin for double talk, since by her own admission she crossed the Canadian border to partake of their evil socialized medicine. Then again what can you expect from a wimp of a President who allows:
- Month after month of death panel talk to go unanswered.
- Corporate citizenship to be instituted by an activist far right Supreme Court with no demand for a constitutional amendment to restore a strict constructionalist interpretation of the Constitution in wake of right wing activism.
- A so – called “Health Care Bill” to be made into law without a strong public option.
- His own native citizenship to be assailed without lashing back.
- Sarah Palin’s connection to the Alaskan Independence Party to not be examined.
On Tuesday Ed Schultz went ballistic about Senator Harry Reid’s comments concerning President Barrack Obama not being forceful with the Republicans. <See video below>. Yes Ed Schultz is correct that Senator Reid should have been forceful himself long ago. None the less I am tired of playing “make believe” about Barrack Obama! I voted for Obama because I just loved what the right winger’s were saying about him!
From listening to these Republican lovers of the corporate collectivization of America you quickly learned they were scared of Barrack Obama! They claimed he was going to use his considerable rhetorical skills to usher in the new Socialist Motherland in America! Hell he has barely used his rhetorical skills in the Presidency. He is no FDR, JFK or Ronald Reagan! And as for the laws he has passed, they are so watered down and wimpy they fit his signature! – MEOW!

Many Liberal talk shows are alarmed that Obama may be turning into a fiscal conservative! (See the video below). Amazing, we can launch two wars that are not paid for and at the same time cut the taxes for the rich! Then naturally we should worry how we can fund a national health care plan. Somehow I think we have our values mixed up.
We must face a crucial assumption that the massive amounts of political campaign contributions have “tamed” even Democrats to avoid. We must face the issue of wealth concentration in the hands of a few!
First we had companies that were to big to fail, now do we have Generals who are to big to fail? General McChrystal may be important to our war effort but he is dispensable! I do not believe army generals are to be puppets of the President. But there is a Constitutional forum for a General to disagree with the President in public! That forum is before a Congressional Committee. I always resented the way generals would act as if they belonged to Bush and spoke of the “Government” as being the same as the “administration”!
It is important to remember that all military officers receive their commission from the Congress of the United States not the President. The President is the Commander – In Chief. They are placed under him but if called before Congress they MUST answer questions of the Congress that gave them their commission as officers!
Remember when Republicans were screaming at President Obama because he bowed to the Japanese Emperor? What about Rep. Joe Barton bowing to BP Executives? True many Republicans pushed him to back away but why do Republicans want a cap on spill liabilities yet are against the “Cap on Trade Bill”? To use the conservative rhetoric of the 60′s when I was a teen, “We live in an era of licentious permissiveness”! That’s right but not because of sex! We live in an era where the CORPORATE COLLECTIVISTS want to undermine INDIVIDUAL FREEDOM! They regard the Gulf as their bathtub for licentious play while they screw mother earth and the lives of what one of their executives called “The little people”!
Yes it is scary that Alvin Greene has won the South Carolina Democratic Primary. I would love to see a debate between Alvin Greene and Sarah Palin. Amazing that Sarah Palin was running for Vice President, an office just a heartbeat away from succession to the Presidency! Yet the right winger’s whined that Sarah Palin was being asked trick questions such as:
Well Alvin Greene is not a parochial hillbilly with just limited knowledge of South Carolina!
Alvin Greene can see Georgia from his house!
Let’s see now how can we Democrats go out of our way to loose! Well first we had Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi gaining the leadership of the Senate and House then pig headily letting the Republicans just roll over them! We could have refused to fund the war in Iraq but Nancy Pelosi would not have any of it!
We could have held the nation spell bound with endless TV newscasts of Congressional committees investigating:
- Halliburton
- George Bush and his failure to complete his National Guard service requirements.
- Corporate selling of our technology to the enemies of America!
- Corporations avoiding taxes by setting up off shore head quarters!
- How we got into Iraq and endless gleeful days of news cycle coverage concerning the Iraqi War’s contribution to our economic mess.
- Corporate off shoring of both white collar technical jobs and blue collar jobs.
